Keeping the axle tight to the leaf springs is key to a smooth, safe ride. This replacement U-bolt is built from strong steel to secure a 3,500-lb axle without flex or movement. It works with a matching U-bolt plate and a second U-bolt to clamp one side of the axle solidly in place, so the suspension stays aligned and dependable.
Loose hardware can cause uneven wear or shifting under load. The 7/16"-20 UNF fine threads on this U-bolt give a strong, even grip that resists loosening. With a torque range from 45 to 70 ft-lbs, it tightens down cleanly and holds steady mile after mile.
Moisture and road grime can eat through unprotected hardware fast. The black phosphate coating on this U-bolt adds a durable layer that stands up to wear, while the oil finish seals it for added corrosion resistance. That means less maintenance and longer service life.
A proper fit makes installation simple and performance reliable. This U-bolt’s 2-3/8" inner width matches round trailer axles of the same diameter, and its 5-1/8" length gives enough thread engagement for a secure clamp with the correct plate and nuts. It’s a straightforward, sturdy piece that keeps your suspension working the way it should.

Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a quick look at this replacement U-bolt. This is going to act as part of your trailer's suspension system. It's gonna replace one of the two U-bolts that secure one side of your axle to the leaf spring. This has an inner width of 2 3/8 of an inch, so it will work for your 2 3/8 inch diameter round trailer axles. This is a nice strong steel construction to ensure a nice long lasting durability.
It does have this black phosphate coating that's gonna help protect against wear and tear, and this also has an oil finish that seals that phosphate coat for corrosion resistance. Our overall inner length here, we're looking at right about five inches, just over 5 1/8 of an inch. The bolt size is 7/16 by 20 UNF. You can see the fine threads here are gonna provide a nice strong grip, and now, the nuts to secure this in position are sold separately, but you should be able to either reuse the originals or find some that fit with that 7/16 inch 20 UNF fit. So that's gonna complete our look for today.
Again, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Thanks for watching..

Didn’t need u bolt bought it in case I broke one !
Great product selection service and del ivery.
It’s a u bolt
I had the new axle the next day, not sure how they did it. These guys are great it was a perfect fit.
One leaf spring was missing bushings. Called and was assured that they would be sent. The lady was very helpful. Thank you. I will buy again.
Order arrived a day later than proposed, but that wasn't an issue, however, I realized once I opened the package, that there were no nuts included with the U-bolts I ordered. Considering that the threads are slightly different on the nuts and bolts, I would think that the correct nuts would be included. I could re-use the old nuts, but not sure I should. Should I buy new at a hardware store?
Excellent service and delivery! Thank y ou
