When space is tight but visibility is a must, this low-profile ID bar light delivers. At only 1/2" deep, it keeps a sleek look while meeting FMVSS 108 identification light requirements for trailers over 80" wide. The clear lens with red LEDs puts out bright, wide-angle light that makes your trailer stand out at night or in poor weather. It draws just 0.04–0.07 amps across a 9–14 V DC range, so you get strong illumination without loading your electrical system.
If your trailer sees rain, road spray, or even full submersion, this light is ready for it. The vacuum-sealed, sonically welded housing is paired with TecSeal urethane potting and an IP68 rating for complete weatherproofing. That means the LEDs and wiring stay protected from moisture and dirt no matter the conditions. It’s built to last through years of use without fogging or corrosion inside the lens.
Rocks, debris, and long days in the sun won’t take this light down. The rugged polycarbonate lens resists impacts and UV damage, maintaining clear output and a clean look over time. Rated for over 100,000 hours of LED life, it’s designed to keep working mile after mile without dimming or cracking under pressure.
Installation is quick with the surface-mount design that uses two #8 screws—screw covers are included for a clean finish. The light’s flexible mounting options let you install it horizontally, vertically, or even at an angle. And with a 9" pigtail (white ground, black +12 V power), wiring up is straightforward. At 15-1/2" long by 1-5/16" tall and only 1/2" deep, it fits neatly wherever you need reliable identification lighting.

Hi, everyone, Steve here with etrailer.com. Today we're looking at our TecNiq low profile ID bar. It gives you a red surface-mount light and it meets all FMWSS 108 identification light requirements for vehicles that are over 80 inches wide. This is an ultra-thin design. It is 1/2 inch deep, so it's gonna minimize protrusion, giving you a nice, sleek look. And you have about roughly nine inches of pigtail here that I've got wired up today so that I can line it up for you.
And I know it looks like there's a lot of LEDs, but there's technically only 1, 2, 3, as you see, and they are red. Let's go ahead and shut off the overhead lights in the studio. And as you can see, my camera's kind of out focus, so I apologize for that. But it gives you a nice look and it makes you visible from far away. And this design has been rated for over 100,000 hours of LED performance.
It does give you flexible mounting options. You can install it horizontal or vertically. It's totally up to you. Or even at an angle on some of those headache racks and different things. So it's totally up to you of how you wanna install it and how you need to install it for your needs.
And again, you're gonna have the pigtail on the back here, red and white wires nine inches long. And this obviously runs on 12 volts of power. Overall, I got 15 1/2 inches long, again, 1 5/16 inch tall by only 1/2 inch deep. (table thudding) Now you will need two screws to mount this, #8 screws. Those are not included.
You can source 'em locally or purchase 'em separately. Folks, that we'll wrap it up for our quick look together at this TecNiq low profile ID bar in red. I'm Steven, thanks for watching.
