This 2-1/2" round Piranha LED light puts out bright, clean amber light using five efficient diodes. It draws only 0.10 amps at 12V while operating anywhere between 9V and 16V. That means you get strong visibility without putting a heavy load on your wiring. The LEDs are rated for up to 100,000 hours of operation, so you can count on long life and consistent brightness without ever needing to swap out bulbs.
Visibility from the side can make all the difference in safety. This PC-rated light throws a 180-degree beam pattern—90 degrees to either side of centerline—so it can act as both a clearance light and a side marker light when properly mounted. Others can see your trailer from the front, side, or rear, which helps make night towing and lane changes much safer.
A recessed mount gives this light a smooth, finished look while keeping it protected from bumps or snags. The design uses a grommet (sold separately) that secures the housing flush to the trailer surface. The durable plastic base and acrylic amber lens hold up well over time and keep dust and moisture out. Combined with the sealed AMP-style plug connection, it’s built for reliability in all kinds of conditions.
Part of Peterson’s Piranha series, this light blends modern design with vivid amber illumination for a more refined appearance that stands out day or night. It’s designed for 12V DC systems and built for efficiency, durability, and style—all in one compact package measuring 2-1/2" in diameter by 1-1/2" thick. Once installed, it delivers vibrant lighting you can depend on every time you hit the road.

Jeff: Hello, everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're going to take a look at this Piranha round LED trailer clearance and side marker light with the amber lens. Now this is a small trailer light that'll function as both a clearance and side marker light when it's properly mounted. It is a Piranha series, which combines a nice modern design with a vibrant LED lighting for a unique look. Does use LEDs, which make great replacements for incandescent lights.
They're rated for up to a hundred thousand hours of operation. They are more efficient. They'll provide brighter light with less power output, and there's no bulbs to replace or brittle filaments that'll break. It's a nice durable plastic base with an acrylic lens, and it is an amber lens with five amber LEDs. This is compatible with 12-volt DC systems.
And at the end of this video, I'm going to try to hook this up to some 12-volt power to show you how bright the light is.It is a recessed mount design. It's designed to mount into a rubber grommet. Now that grommet we do sell separately on our website. On the very back, if you look, it's designed to accept the AMP-style plug for a nice weather-tight connection. You just push the two-prong plug right in there.
This is a PC rated light. So it will produce 180 degree beam pattern. This light is made in the USA.Give you a few dimensions on this. The overall diameter from one side to the other, right at two and a half inches. The depth of it, and we're going to measure to the front to where it sticks out all the way in the back.
So you're looking at right about one and a half inches deep. Power draw on this slide at 12 volts is 0.10 amps. Operating voltage range, nine volts to 16 volts. And we're going to try to hook up to some power here. So what I'm going to do is, it normally has a plug with that hooks into those pins. Let's see if we can get it all the way down in there. I'm going to go ahead and turn on our power, and there you go. You can see the five LEDs light up. I'll go ahead and turn off the overhead light. And you can see it's pretty bright amber light. And again, we mentioned it's PC rated, so it does produce 180 degree beam pattern. Go ahead and turn back on our overhead lights. Turn off our power. But that should do it for the review on the Piranha round LED trailer clearance and side marker light with the amber lens.
