Question:
In the 7-pin round RV connection on the truck side: center pin is labeled as auxillary. Is this powered as a reverse signal always/sometimes/never? I would like to add a trailer backup light but dont know if this pin is powered on reverse. My truck is a 2018 Ford F-150. Thanks for any insight you might be able to give.

Expert Reply:
Yes, the center pin for the 7-way trailer connector on your 2018 Ford F-150 is for the reverse light circuit. If the vehicle is placed into reverse then the pin will become active and send power to the trailer. I have attached a selection of our backup lights for you below. I recommend the Hot-Line LED Trailer Backup Light Bar part # 328-003-6017W because its's easy to install and has LED bulbs. In order to run the power wire from this light to the trailer connector you can use part # DW07550-1.
