Specs:
A trailer jack is designed to lift the tongue of your trailer so you can connect the trailer coupler to your hitch ball. To do this, you'll need a jack with a lift capacity high enough to handle your trailer's tongue weight.
Tongue weight is the amount of weight that your trailer applies to the back of your tow vehicle. Typically, your tongue weight should be 10-15% of your total trailer weight (trailer + cargo). In other words, a 10,000-lb trailer would have a tongue weight between 1,000 lbs and 1,500 lbs. For a trailer this size, you would need a jack with a lift capacity of at least 1,500 lbs.
It's okay to have a jack with a weight rating that is higher than your trailer's tongue weight. In fact, a jack with a higher lift capacity should operate more efficiently, allowing you to spend less time cranking and more time camping.
Every jack offers a certain amount of lift or travel. Screw travel is the distance the jack extends when you crank it (or toggle it to "extend" on an electric model). Some jacks include a drop leg for extra adjustability. On these jacks, you'll see the maximum extension of the drop leg listed in the specs as well. Adding the screw travel and drop leg travel together will give you the total lift. The total lift listed above can help you determine how high this jack will be able to raise your trailer.

Today we're going to be taking a look at part number BD155028. This is the bulldog round, a-frame trailer jack. The dependable jack is recognized as industry standard for agricultural and commercial applications. It's ASABE compliant. It's going to features a static capacity of 3,000 pounds with a lift capacity of 2,000 pounds. The jacks also going to feature precision fitted parts, which is going to provide exceptional stability and reliability.
It can be welded or bolted to any standard a-frame coupler. It's got a 3 mount hole design. Your mounting hardware is not included. The jack is going to be made from a steel construction. The out tube and the inner tube are going to feature zinc plated finish so that's going to really stand up well against rusting and corrosion. Here at the top we have our top wind handle.
That's going to feature a nice, smooth, ergonomic design for easy cracking. It's got the nice easy grip knob for secure hold when operating the jack. Now when the handles not being used it can be rotated over to a stowed position. Just like that. Kind of keeps it our of the way.
As you can see on this jack it does not come with a caster or foot plate. Those items are sold separately. It does have the connection point down here that way you can easily get it installed. Those items if needed can be found right here a etrailer.com. The outer tube on the units going to have a diameter of 2.25 of an inch. Inner tube diameter's going to be 2 inches.
A few measurements to go over with you real quick. With it in the fully retracted position it's going to give us a bracket height measurement, measuring from the ground to that mounting bracket, of 8 3/8 of an inch. With it fully extended that measurement actually increases to 23 3/8 of an inch, which gives this jack a lift, or travel measurement, of 15 inches. Measuring from the top of the bracket to the top of that handle mount mechanism, to this point right here, that's going to give us a measurement of about 14 3/8 of an inch. Then when I did a measurement to the top of the handle that measured about 15 1/2 inches from the top of the bracket. That's going to do it for today's look at part number BD155028.
