When your trailer sees a lot of water—whether it’s saltwater or snowmelt—rust can become the biggest headache. This DeeMaxx idler hub is built from galvanized steel that’s marine-grade and corrosion resistant, so it keeps its integrity even after repeated immersion. It’s solid and dependable for long-term use in the toughest conditions.
Keeping an eye on lubrication shouldn’t mean tearing the hub apart. This hub uses an oil bath system that lets you see the oil level through a clear cap (sold separately) and top off as needed without disassembly. It makes maintenance quick and clean while keeping bearings properly protected.
This hub is made to handle serious weight. It fits 8,000-lb axles with #42 spindles and has a 4,000-lb per-hub capacity. The 8 on 6-1/2" bolt pattern with 9/16"-18 wheel studs gives you a strong connection that holds up under heavy towing and rough roads.
No need to change hardware when you upgrade your setup. This hub works as an idler hub or can be paired with a 13.1" over-the-hub rotor for disc brake applications. The longer 9/16" x 2-1/2" studs make it easy to mount thicker wheels or brake rotors without running short on thread engagement.
Getting bearing races seated straight can be tricky, but this hub takes care of it out of the box. Both the inner (25520) and outer (02420) races come factory-installed, so all you need to do is insert your bearings (25580 inner and 02475 outer), add the 10-63 oil seal and oil cap (sold separately), and you’re ready to roll.
1. Count the lug holes
Look at the wheel hub or the back of the wheel and count how many lug holes there are(also called bolt holes).
Common configurations include: 4-lug, 5-lug, 6-lug and 8 lug
2a. For even lug counts (4-lug, 6-lug, 8-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole directly across to the center of the hole opposite it.
Common configurations: 4 on 4", 6 on 5.5", 8 on 6.5"
2b. For odd lug counts (5-lug)
Measure from the center of one lug hole to the outer edge of the hole directly across (not center-to-center since there's no directly opposite hole).
Common configurations: 5 on 4.5" (most popular), 5 on 5", 5 on 4.75", 5 on 5.5"

Hi everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com and today we're gonna take a look at this D-Max Galvanized Trailer Idler hub. This marine grade trailer hub assembly is going to fit your 8,000 pound trailer idler axle with number 42 spindle. The long wheel studs are going to let you pair this with an over the hub brake rotor for disc brake applications or a custom wheel with a thick mounting face. Now this features a galvanized steel construction that's durable and corrosion resistant, and this is going to be great to be used on a boat or snowmobile trailer. And the oil bath is going to let you check the lubricant level without taking the hub assembly apart.
You're just gonna have to look through the clear oil cap which is sold separately to check lubrication levels. I do wanna point out that on the related product section of this product page, we do recommend an oil cap that will work with this. If you are in need of that, you can just add that to your order. So just some specs on this idler hub. The bolt pattern is eight on 6 1/2 inches, and the wheel stud dimensions is 9/16 inch in diameter and 2 1/2 inches long.
The oil cap flange diameter is 2.875 inches and the weight capacity is 4,000 pounds. So when this one is matched with the one on the other side of your axle, it will meet your 8,000 pound axle capacity. So this does include the races and they are pre-installed in this idler hub assembly but the bearings, and the oil seal, and the oil cap are sold separately. So on your screen, I do wanna give you, for your reference, the bearings that will fit with this. The inner bearing is 25580.
The outer bearing is 2475. And the races that are already pre-installed in this hub, the inner race is 25520, and the outer race is 02420. And then the oil seal is going to be 10-63. And again, you're gonna be able to find all of these items on the related product section on this product page and you can just click those links to each of those parts, and then you can easily add them to your order if you are in need of them. Now this weighs a little over 15 1/2 pounds.
And that's gonna conclude our look today. I do hope that it was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.
