Speaker 1: Today we're gonna take a look at the Dexter E-coat oil bath trailer hub with the eight on six and a half inch bolt pattern for 8,000 pound axles. This trailer hub is designed to work with 8,000 pound axles with disc brakes. It is a cast iron construction, provides strength and durability. It does have a nice E-coat finish on it to prevent against corrosion and wear, and this part does include everything laid out here on the table. It'll include the idler hub itself, the inner, the outer bearings. The bearing braces, they are actually pre-installed already into the hub.
It comes with the unitized oil seal since it is an oil bath design. The oil bath cap that is designed to screw into the outer edge of the hub here, and the eight wheel lug nuts which are a size 9/16ths by 18. All these parts are made in the USA.Again, the specs on this hub. It fits an axle capacity of 8,000 pounds. The wheel size that'll work on this is 16 inch, 16 and a half inch, and 17 inch.
Again, the bolt pattern on this hub is eight on six and a half inches. The wheel lug size that is used is 9/16ths by 18. The pilot diameter, which is the size right here from this edge to this edge straight across is 4 3/4 inches. The information on your bearing braces and seals: the bearings that are included, the inner bearing, part number 25580, has a 1.75 inch inner diameter. The outer bearing is part number O2475, has a 1 1/4 inch inner diameter.
The races I mentioned are all included. The grease seal, which is the unitized seal, is part number 10-63. Inner diameter of 2.25 inches, outer diameter of 3.376 inches, and it comes with an oil bath cap and eight of the 9/16ths by 18 lug nuts. That should do it for our review on the Dexter E-coat oil bath trailer hub, eight on six and a half inch bolt pattern for 8,000 pound axles.
Saved us after catastrophic bearing failure destroyed hub and scored spindle. Studs were too long and we had to pound out and use from old hub, but etrailer was the only supplier from which we could get the hub for an 8k axle. Fast delivery appreciated! Entire axle with hubs since replaced, but we are keeping this one for a spare!
