Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a quick look at this Timken replacement HM212049 trailer wheel bearing. This is a high-quality, tapered roller bearing that's gonna replace an outer bearing for your 20,000 pound to 25,000 pound axle. This is a Timken product, and if you're not familiar, Timken is one of the most well known and highly trusted brands in the industry because their products are engineered with higher quality controls to ensure higher tolerances and run outs than other manufacturers. So that's gonna help reduce vibrations and noise and lead to a longer bearing life when you have it properly installed. That higher quality is even evident in the way they ship their product.
This comes individually packaged and oiled so it's gonna arrive to you in a high-quality state so it's ready to be packed and installed on your trailer axle. Of course, when you're replacing your bearing, you wanna make sure that you're getting the right one for your setup. So you can see this does have the industry standard number printed on that inner circle or cone there. So we've got the HM212049 right there, very easy to see. So if you see that number on your original bearing, you know this will fit right in place of it.
Another way to tell is this is going to work with the races that you see on the screen there. So if you see either one of those numbers on the race for your setup, you can trust this is gonna fit in those races; it's gonna spin properly. And then the only other way, if you don't see those numbers anywhere either is to measure your inner diameter here. This is gonna be pretty precise. So you'll need to use some digital calipers like I have here to measure that 'cause it does go down to a thousandth of an inch.
So you can see this is at 2.625. So make sure that that's gonna work for you. But if you are, this is gonna match up with the one that you're replacing. It is gonna be a great high-quality replacement for you, provide excellent performance and long-lasting life. That completes our look for today.
