Video Transcript for Review of Lippert Trailer Brakes - Right Self Adjusting Electric Trailer Brake Assembly - LC86RP

Hi, everybody, Andy here with etrailer. Let's take a quick look at this Lippert right-hand self-adjusting electric trailer brake assembly. Now, this is a self-adjusting replacement electric brake assembly that's designed for the right-hand or passenger side of your 4,400-pound trailer axle with a 10-inch by 2 1/2, I'm sorry, 2 1/4-inch brake. So again, 10-inch by 2 1/4-inch brakes. This is built specifically for Lippert ABS braking systems, so it has provisions for the ABS sensor and wiring. Now, that sensor is sold separately.

On your screen, though, I am popping up the part number for that sensor. So if you're in need of that, take that part number, pop it in the search field of our website. That will take you to that sensor and you can add that to your order. And that's gonna let you work with your trailer's antilock braking setup. Now, by the way, I wanted to mention, as I said, this is a right-hand assembly.

But if you have an assembly, maybe you're replacing an assembly and it doesn't have a sticker on it like a lotta the new ones do. I'm looking for the sticker here. This one has a sticker right here saying that it's right-hand. If you don't have a sticker on the assembly, though, and you wanna know if it's left or right, there's an easy way to do that. You wanna look for the short brake pad, and you can see that it's right here on this side.

This short brake pad is known as the primary brake pad. That always points to the front. And then the longer brake pad is always going to point to the back of the trailer. So as you can see, our short or primary brake pad pointing to the front, so you can see that this is going to sit on the passenger side of your, or the right-hand side, rather, of your trailer. So that's an easy visual way to mark out which assembly is for which.

This is self-adjusting, so that's gonna help automatically keep your brake shoes properly adjusted as they wear. So you're not gonna have to perform periodic manual brake adjustments. That's just one less maintenance task while helping your brakes continue to perform consistently over time. Now, if you are looking to replace both brake assemblies, it's often easier to do them as a pair, rather than ordering each side separately, we do have this as a kit. So you can get the left- and right-hand at that part number that you see there on your screen. So it's gonna be a simple way to restore your trailer's complete brake setup.
