Features to know about

Upgrade from Drum to Disc for Better Control: Electric-Over-Hydraulic Actuation

Switching from old drum or surge brakes instantly improves stopping feel and response. This kit’s Alpha G1600 electric-over-hydraulic actuator delivers up to 1,600 psi and ties directly into your in-cab brake controller for smooth, proportional braking. The pump-and-motor system eliminates lag, giving you faster engagement and consistent braking whether you’re slowing on the highway or backing down a ramp.

Built for Salt and Water: Maxx-Coated Components Resist Corrosion

Wet ramps, winter roads, or brackish water won’t eat these brakes alive. The Maxx coating on the rotors, calipers, and brackets has a salt spray rating over 1,000 hours—far beyond zinc or Dacromet finishes. Drainage holes in the hat section let water escape quickly, keeping the rotors dry inside and extending life in harsh conditions.

Runs Cooler and Lasts Longer: Vented, One-Piece Hub-and-Rotor Design

Heat buildup is what kills braking performance. The vented 13-1/8" rotors move air through the core to keep temperatures down and pad wear even. Each integral hub-and-rotor assembly is cast as one piece to reduce uneven wear and simplify mounting. Automotive-grade materials and Kevlar pads with stainless pistons provide fast, even stopping that stays consistent run after run.

Simplifies Setup and Maintenance: Complete Ready-to-Mount Kit

Everything needed for a single 7,000 lb axle is here—two hub-rotors preloaded with bearings and seals, calipers, brackets, lines, fittings, and the actuator. Rubber brake hoses meet DOT and SAE standards and are easier to route than rigid steel lines. Laser-etched bleeding instructions right on the calipers make future service simple without digging for a manual.

Reliable Performance Backed by Warranty: Built for Real Work

DeeMaxx designs these brakes to handle tough duty with confidence. Each component is corrosion-tested and proven under SAE J2681 automotive standards. The kit carries a 7-year warranty on the brakes and a 2-year warranty on the actuator—solid assurance that your setup will keep working season after season.

Video Transcript for DeeMaxx Disc Brake Kit w/ Actuator for Single Axle Trailers Review

Hello, everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a look at the DeeMaxx 13 inch Disc Brake Kit with the electric-over-hydraulic actuator for 7,000 pound single axle trailers. These have an 8 on 6 1/2 inch bolt pattern. Now, this kit will let you upgrade your trailer from drum to disc brakes for superior performance. It will include everything laid out here on the table. I'm gonna go through all the parts here.

We'll start with the hub and rotors, it includes two of these one piece hub and rotors. And the bearing races are pre-installed in the hub and rotors. Also, down here, you'll notice it'll come with the bearings, the seals, the caps, and even the lug nuts. And if you wanna know the part numbers for all these parts, we do list them on the product page. It comes with the two calipers with the brake pads installed and the mounting brackets.

We mentioned it comes with the electric-over-hydraulic actuator. And over here, you can see it'll come with the hydraulic lines and fittings. And if you noticed, the lines are rubber hoses. They'll meet the DOT and SAE standards, and they're easier to install than rigid steel lines. Now, we mentioned this actuator, this is an electric-over-hydraulic actuator, and this is to activate your brakes when your brake controller signals to apply the brakes.

It has a maximum output pressure of 1,600 psi. What's nice with this, there's no lag or delay, it gives you more braking control than a surge type actuator, and it is compatible with most in-cab brake controllers. Now, the brake controller's not included, we do sell those separately. This is great for towing and launching your boat in either fresh or brackish water. It uses a corrosion resistant max coat finish on the hub and rotors, the calipers, the brackets.

They all have a salt spray rating of over 1,000 hours. And the hat section of the hub and rotor, just wanna zoom in and show you right here. If you look right over here, you can see these holes. These are drainage holes in the hat section, and allows water to drain easily, further minimizing any type of corrosion. Now, this will deliver smooth, even braking with a fast response time. The brake pads in the calipers are Kevlar brake pads, they'll dissipate heat, resist wear and tear extremely well. And the calipers use 2 1/2 inch diameter stainless steel pistons, which will provide fast, responsive braking. This kit requires minimal maintenance, saves you time and money. I did wanna show you, if we zoom in on the caliper, on each caliper, they'll use laser-etched instructions on the caliper, so it takes the guesswork out of installing and bleeding your brakes. They do use one piece hub and rotor assemblies to reduce the chance of uneven rotor wear, and it does use a vented design to dissipate heat faster to prevent premature brake pad wear. They do use high quality automotive grade construction, which is long lasting. Again, the application for this kit is 7,000 pound single axle trailers. Bolt pattern again is 8 on 6 1/2 inches. The wheel stud diameter is 1/2 inch. The rotor itself, the actual diameter if you measure it is 13 1/8 inches. And it is designed to fit five-bolt brake mounting flange configurations. But that's gonna do it for the review on this DeeMaxx 13 inch Disc Brake Kit with the electric-over-hydraulic actuator for 7,000 pound single axle trailers.

Love the kit. Easy installation and all works well. I am having some technical issues with the actuator and after contacting e trailer they gave me the number to call Deemax directly. After two calls and voicemail I still haven’t received a response.
