Features to know about

Won't Leave Black Streaks

A perfect weekend on the water doesn't have to start by discovering black streaks across the front of your boat. Rubber rollers that come with your boat trailer are usually the culprit. This non-marking TPO roller solves that problem for good. It protects the finish, keeps your bow looking sharp, and saves you the hassle of cleaning up before every trip. It's a simple swap that pays off every time you launch.

TPO vs. TPR: Which Roller Is Right for You?

Caliber 3-inch roller

Choosing between roller materials shouldn't feel like decoding a chemistry book, so here's the breakdown: TPO (Thermoplastic Polyolefin) is what this Caliber roller is made from, and it's built tough. It handles sunlight, chemicals, and heat like a champ. That means it won't fade, crack, or warp in the sun, and it won't soften up or get slick when exposed to oils or cleaners. TPR (Thermoplastic Rubber) is common in rollers from other brands. It's soft and flexible, which can make it easier to mold during manufacturing, but that softness can wear down faster under load. It also tends to leave marks on lighter hulls and doesn't resist UV rays as well as TPO does. If you boat often, park in the sun, or just want something that's going to last several seasons, go with TPO. If you don't mind replacing rollers more frequently or if you're only doing occasional launches, TPR will do just fine for you.

Built to Last All Season

Sunlight, water, weather, and chemicals can wear down rollers faster than you think, especially the cheap ones. This TPO roller holds its shape, resists cracking, and won't dry out like rubber does. That means fewer replacements, less frustration, and more peace of mind every time you hook up the trailer.

Keeps Your Boat Centered

Loading a boat solo or in windy conditions? We've all had those moments where things don't line up quite right. The V-shaped design guide the bow into place smoothly, even when conditions aren't perfect. It takes the pressure off and helps everything feel a little more under control.

Cold-Weather Ready

Some rollers get stiff and brittle when the temps drop. TPO stays flexible and strong, so whether you're launching in early spring, late fall, or going gigging in the winter, your setup won't slow you down.

Video Transcript for Review of Caliber Boat Trailer Parts - V-Type Bow Roller - CA82AJ

Hi, everyone, Steven here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look together at our Caliber 3-inch V-style Bow Roller. It uses a 1/2-inch shaft and it's a TPO Black. So, folks, this replaces your dry-rotted or cracked bow roller. It's gonna help center the boat onto the trailer, and it's ideal for supporting boats with a nice pronounced keel. Again, it's made of TPO, so it's long-lasting.

It is shock-absorbent, it's chemical and UV-resistant. And as you can see, you've got that 1/2-inch shaft diameter through the center. 3 inches and about 3 inches that way, as well. Now, this is going to hold up in the sun, and it performs better than the PVC options or rubber options out there, especially in the cold. That's gonna wrap it up.

I'm Steven, thanks for watching.

  • How Do The Caliber 3" V-Type Bow Rollers CA82AJ Hold Up To Salt Water Corrosion?
Hello Aiadan, thanks for reaching out. The Caliber 3" V-Type Bow Roller # CA82AJ is made of a Thermoplastic Polyolefin and TPO is generally considered more durable and better at holding up to the elements than PVC or rubber. The TPO does especially well in cold weather and salt water so it will be a solid option for you.

  • What Type of Bow Roller Should I Get
Hey Dex, they both work the exact same so it'd be a matter of preference. I'd just use what's currently on your trailer, so if you have a single piece roller, I'd go with # CA82AJ. However, the only caveat is that if you have a flat bottom boat, then you're better suited with # CA32AJ. Let me know if there is anything else I can do to help in the comments below!
