Polyvinyl chloride (PVC) is a sturdy material that is great for use on marine trailers. A PVC roller is more durable than a rubber roller, but it's also soft enough to absorb road shock when your boat's in tow. And PVC is corrosion resistant, even in saltwater.
PVC is also non-marring, so it won't damage or discolor your boat upon contact. Rubber rollers can leave marks on your boat as you load and unload. With PVC, on the other hand, you won't need to worry about any scuffs or smears on your boat.

Today we'll be looking at the CE Smith bow roller for skiff boat trailers. Now, if your bow rollers are damaged or maybe they're just crumbling and falling apart, this is going to be a replacement for that piece on your skiff boat trailer. It's going to allow your boat to roll up without any worries about marring your boat.It's made of a durable polyvinyl chloride or PVC construction, so we don't have to worry about it crumbling over time like can happen with rubber, a lot of times it dries out and cracks and just falls apart. This is going to be great for use in freshwater and salt water. We don't have to worry about it crumbling and falling apart on us, so it's going to last a long time, but it's still pliable enough that it absorbs road shock, so it will give us a little bit of cushion for our boat, and it's not going to leave any scuffs or scratches on our boat hull.It comes in this nice amber color. We'll have our pre-drilled hole through there so you can mount it up.
Now, it doesn't come with any hardware or any mounting brackets. You can purchase this separately here at etrailer.com. We've got roller shafts, mounting brackets, all those parts available here separately.As far as dimensions, the diameter of our roller is about 8-1/2" and the diameter of that pin shaft is about 5/8". The widest point of our roller is about 1-1/2", and the middle portion is a little bit thicker than that, maybe about 1-5/8".That's going to do it for our look at the CE Smith bow roller for skiff boat trailers.

As I have mentioned on my review of the Keel Rollers I am rebuilding an old trailer that I am sure was around when Jesus was a child, it's an ol timer for sure, anyway I have it installed, looks great, haven't had the chance to try 'em out but I am absolutely sure they will do the job intended just as great. After ordering it came faster that the ship date indicated, which is always a plus.
The product is good. It’s just a little long for my purposes so I’m gonna cut it down, but it is good quality.
I just installed the new bow roller and boat winch and am very pleased. The new Fulton F2 and C.E. Smith roller assembly went on easier than the old parts came off. I’m also very happy with the very clean look, they really dress up my Nitro bass boat better than the original parts. I am already making plans for more upgrades after seeing the results today. Great for PWCs and fishing boats but probably a bit lightweight for larger boats. Works well on my Sea Doo trailer. I was going to make my own, but for what I could buy the material for, I was able to buy two of these. Bottom line, I'd buy these again for what I'm using them for.
Etrailer has been great to work with. I had ordered the wrong part, by one number. Once discovered, I contacted Joshua to see if I could return the part and get the right one. Etrailer sent me a return label once I have ordered the new part and made a credit to my account.

Alex was excellent with his communication and follow up to see if I received it.
Worked well for my 1200cc jetski trailer. I felt that it could be stronger for the angle at which I was forced to mount it, but as long as I do not overload it there have been no issues.
This product is described as “ Pre-Galvanized Steel”. This product was installed on my trailer and sat in the garage without use for three months after I prototype. It rusted significantly and the finish came off. Etrailer refused to take it back. I called CE Smith and they sent me a new one. It did not rust as bad as the first one. I ended up sanding and painting it. I only use the product in fresh water and it is stored in my garage. Make sure to inspect this product when you get it and keep an eye on it.

I had tried many ways to stop the bow of my skiff from getting hung up while launching and loading. These large bow rollers are the only thing that has worked, only wished I had tried them first.
