Most retractable covers take a lot of time and tools to install, but this one is ready to go in about 10 minutes. All you need is a wrench and screwdriver—no drilling required. The canister bolts to the bulkhead, and the side rails clamp inside the bed rails using two clamps per side. Built-in kickstands help level the rails so you don’t have to worry about overtightening or uneven fitment. When it’s time to haul something large, you can remove the entire cover just as easily and reinstall it in roughly the same 10 minutes.
When you need the whole bed for tall or oversized cargo, you can take off the Switchblade without hassle. The canister detaches from the side rails using a wrench, and the pull strap doubles as a handle for lifting it out. That means you get true full-bed capacity when needed without compromising protection when you put it back on.
Getting into your truck bed shouldn’t be a chore. Just squeeze the pinch grips under the rear plate to release the heavy-duty tension spring, and the cover glides smoothly into its canister. Re-closing is just as simple with the built-in pull strap. The movement is smooth and quick—no sticking or fighting panels—and you never lose visibility through your rear window since the cover stores neatly inside its compact canister.
Rain, dust, and debris don’t stand a chance with this durable deck. It uses a black vinyl top layer bonded to rigid aluminum slats for a seamless look that’s sleek yet strong. Water management comes from sealed rails that channel runoff into drain tubes at the canister, then out through factory holes in the bed floor. Foam seals beneath the rails and canister block out moisture along with a large rear seal that closes tightly against the tailgate.
The cover sits just 1/8" above your bed rails for a clean, aerodynamic look that cuts wind drag. With both pinch grips and pull strap hidden under the rear plate, no one can open it when your tailgate is locked. The hard aluminum slats resist prying or cutting, so your gear stays safe while the truck keeps its smooth factory lines.

Love the sleekness of the cover. I removed a bak revolver and replaced it with this one. Much easier to hook up the 5th wheel without the giant roll of cover behind the cab. Super easy to open and close. The only issue I had was the front mounting hardware did not fit for some reason. They would not loop together due to the Engel of the truck bed. Not a big deal as I made it work just fine.pretty easy install as I did the entire thing alone as a 58 year old man with a wrecked back!

The cover works real well In all aspects I have ut On my 2018 2500 duramax but after about the 7th month the small stainless screws came out of the latch mechanism on the side rails and is impossible to roll cover out without losing latch mechanism on each side.

Very easy directions to follow. It didn't take long to install. It works very well.
Cover has held up well after a year of use. However it gets tricky in the winter months when it can freeze.
Item was damaged in shipping and after contacting etrailer twice they finally reached out to me with a sorry but what would you like me to do about it attitude…. I was able to straighten out the bent frame with a hammer and piece of wood… etrailer please train your shipping department on how to pack a roll up bed cover!

Love it! It takes the hassle out of loading large objects and features security for the things in the bed.
Someone tried to break into the first one I had and although the vinyl was damaged they weren't able to get into the bed of my truck. I ordered another and it's on my truck looking good and keeping it secure.
The cover is nice except for when it rains. If you are looking to get a cover that will keep your bed dry this is not the one.

Anthony, these are weather resistant not water proof. So some waterdebridust may get in at some point. HOWEVER if it is a large amount then I would check your seals and make sure that the proper adhesives and gaskets are used and that you clean and sandpaper the mounting areas if they have any bed liner or plastics so you will get a better seal.
Pros: The looks and operation are great. I don’t think there is a better looking cover.
Cons: It leaks like crazy. It is not designed for a bed with plastic rail covers. My Denali HD comes with plastic rails as do most trucks. So you have to use some foam weather stripping in an attempt to seal. The foam helps however it appears it leaks from multiple places. The rubber flange seal on the cover split within a month of installing.
Not easy to install. Worried about it being waterproof. Haven't had a rain yet to test it. But so far I love it.

I had thought about buying this exact tanhoe cover when I purchased my truck last November but didn't. A month later I wished that I had! I looked all over for this cover and couldn't find it. Then a about a week ago etrailer sent me a message saying that I might be interested in this tanhoe cover! I purchased it immediately and got it exactly when they said I would. It's the BEST purchase I've made! 15 minutes to install and works perfectly! Love it! Thank you so much for the recommendation!
I got this cover as a replacement for another manufacturers cover which had deteriorated over five years. The Switchblade cover installed easily with one person and works as intended to keep rain. snow, and wind blown debris out and cargo, especially small ligh cargo, secure from being blown around and out of the truck bed. The tracks need occasional lubrication, but that is on the owner not the Switchblade cover. After one year the cover is still holding up well and functioning as designed.
After searching for a bed cover I came back to etrailer because of the service and quality of my 5th wheel hitch that I purchased from them when I bought my new truck. I received my new bed cover and it is awesome just as described and fit perfect and took about 30 min to install it. etrailer is the place to buy all your truck or trailer needs . As you can see from the pictures it covers up my diesel tank and the 5th wheel hitch when not in use and when you pull the 5th wheel then just roll in into the canaster.
Over all it’s a pretty decent tonneau cover, it really flimsy and looks like it’s going to blow in when you go through the car wash. Install is really easy and it looks good. The down side is the front seal to the cab. Why they don’t give you a longer rubber to seal to the bed. When going through the car wash the front of the bed fills up with water due to the 1/4 gap between the cab seal and the bed. This is cause by the plastic side rails that are installed down the truck.
My solution was to go to HD and get a garage door seal and make it work. So far it seems to hold up good and seal. Not sure why the company can’t do the same. Surely th rubber seal doesn’t coast that much, especially as much as this cost.

Switchblade cover works great. Was easy to install. Was concerned about it working well in snow and ice. Works great. Wish the drain tube attached better to canister. They have come undone a couple of times and are kind of a pain to reattach. All in all very happy, good product.
