Features to know about

Quick Cargo Access: Tri-Fold Design

When you need to grab gear from the bed or load up something tall, the Trifecta 2.0 makes it simple. Just open the tailgate and release the spring-loaded EZ-Lock clamps to flip the rear panel open. Fold the panels toward the cab to free up two-thirds of the bed or remove the cover completely for full access. It’s quick to switch between a protected bed and an open one without tools or extra steps.

Clean Look, No Hassle: Self-Contained, Rail-Less Design

Unlike many covers that leave behind bulky rails or hardware, this one is completely self-contained. All the clamps and hardware are built into the cover itself, so installing or removing it takes only minutes and leaves the bed clean when you’re done. With no drilling or tools required, it’s easy to go from work use during the day to a sleek, covered bed at night.

Built to Last: Aircraft-Grade Aluminum Frame

The Trifecta 2.0 uses a strong, lightweight frame made from aircraft-grade aluminum with a durable black powder-coat finish that resists rust. Reinforced nylon clamps and rugged MAX hinges add strength at every point. The heavy-duty, leather-grain vinyl skin is permanently attached to the frame, and the integrated corner tuck system keeps the tarp tight and smooth.

All-Weather Protection: Snap-On Rubber Seals

Rain, dust, and snow stay out thanks to rubber seals that snap securely around the cover’s perimeter. These seals fit tighter and hold better than adhesive types, helping keep the bed dry. The vinyl skin is tested to handle extreme heat and cold, so it stays flexible through every season while maintaining that factory-clean look.

Easy On, Easy Off: Jaw-Grip and EZ-Lock Clamps

Setup is simple with pre-installed Jaw-Grip clamps up front and EZ-Lock clamps at the rear. The Jaw-Grip design attaches directly to the bed flanges without modifying the bed cap, while the spring-loaded EZ-Lock clamps automatically secure the rear panel when released. When the tailgate is closed and locked, the cover stays secure—no extra locks or adjustments needed.

Product fits well. The rear spring loaded latches work but feel flimsy. I am concerned about how well they will last. The forward tiedown latches fit, but in my opinion should have a rubber/plastic lining in the part that hooks onto the truck bed lip. I am putting in plastic to product truck paint.

Very happy with the cover; good quality and has held up well after a year. Installation was very frustrating as the brackets that came with the cover did not match the instructions and it looked like the brackets wouldn't work at all. I Contacted Extang and they sent me the correct instructions. A picture is worth a thousand words and the install went smoothly after that. But why not just put the correct instructions in the box?

Nice cover, but it should be slightly longer to be a perfect fit on my 2021 Silverado. It’s always been just a little short for a perfect fit, only 1-2 inches in overall length would be better in my opinion. My last truck (2016 Silverado)had a Trifecta cover that fit much better.

I ordered the Extang Trifecta 2.0 Tonneau Cover due to the fact I had an Extang Trifold cover on my former vehicle. I received 10 years of service with this cover no tears or issues. No the truck was not a garage Queen. Spent its entire life exposed to the Northern Ohio weather. After placing my order I received a phone call from Marti at Etrailer informing me that there was a 20 day lead time for manufacture of cover. She wanted me to be informed in case I would like to change order. I went ahead an OK'd the order. The cover arrived within a week of order from the manufacturer. Another good job completed by Etrailer! By the way the cover looks great! Fits as expected!
Thanks Again

Initially I received a damaged unit, a small puncture in the cardboard shipping container also had rendered a small hole in the soft top. A pickup order and a replacement were sent immediately. The unit has preformed above expectations. Carwashes and 20,000 miles of cross continent travel, and our gear stays dry. Thumbs Up!

by:

Excellent quality product. Simple to install (if you use etrailer instructions. The instructions that came with the cover were wrong (different vehicle?). The only con is that to use the full bed for tall items one has to remove the cover which is a slight pain.

by:

Had it installed for almost a year and do like it. Two complaints: (1) even with the cover installed correctly as I'm driving at highway speeds I can see the cover rippling (like ocean waves) from the air leaking past the rubber seal, and (2) when I open lid to the built in storage box in the bed of my Honda Ridgeline the left side of the lid rubs up against the tonneau cover metal bar somewhat rubbing off the black paint.

by:

Received cover prior to expected, fit was great, install was as stated and simple. Good product, very well designed and more durable than I thought it would be

by:

The tonneau cover is great! A perfect fit and a quality product. It was drop shipped directly from the manufacturer and I still got it very quickly. Thanks for another great experience trailer!

by:

The tonneau cover is simple and fast to remove and put back on and that was an important consideration in deciding which one to buy. The slowest part of installing it is positioning it evenly on both sides. It is necessary to remove when mounting my racks for hauling kayaks. I also remove it when hauling firewood to keep from possibly damaging it. I have noticed some water drops in the truck bed after raining between the second and third sections on the truck bed rail. Tightening the rear clamps up might fix the leak but I haven't tried it yet. The rear section does not fit snug against the bed rail. Over all I am pleased with the product.

by:

Held up so far after 1 year of ownership and 1 Maine winter.

Pros: Fit and ease of install. Completely removable in 2 minutes with no tools. Bed stays almost completely dry. Material has stayed in good condition no rips tears waves or fading.

Cons: Air gets under it no matter how good the seal is.

I have owned this cover for a year. It rides on my 2014 Tacoma. Overall, I'm satisfied with the purchase, but I do have a few minor gripes.

1. The metal brackets that ship with the cover are clearly "universal" as in "they fit universally badly on all makes of pickup." I had a machinist friend cut the unnecessary edges off of them and round the corners to spare my knuckles when I was tightening the cover screws in place (near the cab) to install/remove the cover. This was a worthwhile improvement (if you have a bench grinder and/or a machinist friend).

2. After about 6 months of use, the cover seems to not want to sit in the center of the bed anymore. It rides to one side, which doesn't render it useless, but is annoying and doesn't look great. I loosened the front screws, reseated it in the center and it ended up on one side again after a couple of weeks. As it is mostly an aesthetic issue, I just gave up.

3. The foam cushions under the hinges are starting to tear where they rub on the edge of the bed. Not a big deal, but not a great sign for quality and longevity.

Things I like:

1. Compared to the roll-up kind (owned two in the past), this is very easy to open and close.

2. In hot and cold weather, the vinyl remains taught, and it held up fine under significant snow last winter.

3. It's really not a lot of work to fully remove the cover--you'll just want to make sure you leave it behind before you go, because it's still large when fully folded.

4. It keeps things pretty dry (at least as dry as other tonneaus I have owned).

5. Despite my gripes about the included mounting brackets, I do really like that the cover mounts to the Tacoma's bed-mounted channel system without totally compromising the adjustable Toyota attachment points. With the cover brackets installed, you can't slide the attachment points all the way forward and back, but you can slide them forward and back between the cover's mounting brackets, which provides a few useful positions.

Overall, given its value and general utility, I would probably buy this cover again.

Great product. Easy bolt on installation front hitch receiver. makes it easier to get my trailers in the back yard in such tight spaces.

by:

Two of the panels have delaminated and bubbled. It looks terrible. They didn’t even last three months in Florida. You should provide customers a warning notice that your covers don’t do well in hot climates. I tried reaching out to you in an email product support question, but never got any response back from you. I’m sorry I wasted my money on this cover.

by:

Biggest piece of junk I ever bought. Does not work as advertised in video on 8 foot bed. Supposed to be able to be installed/uninstalled by one person standing on the ground, impossible. I sent pictures of me standing on the 3rd step of a ladder still unable to reach the clamps. etrailer said its not their problem as it is a vendor video even though it is on their website. Of course the only way to know this was to place it on the truck. etrailer says since I placed it on the truck it was considered “installed” and could not be returned. Besides this, the mounting hardware is cheap junk, easily damaged. It flops like a flag going down the highway so much it can be heard in the cab of the truck. I spent hours documenting the issues, sending pictures to etrailer, trying to return it. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS POS!

This cover fit my 2006 Ranger just fine. Very light weight and easy to install. It is also very nice looking. Worth the money.

by:

The installation is as easy as it said it was and it fit perfect. It is a great looking tonneau cover and reduced the in cab noise which is a benefit I had not even considered. The shipping and tracking while in route was outstanding, it arrived way before I expected it this time of year. I would recommend it to anyone.

by:

The product arrived ahead of schedule and after having watched your install videos I was able to install it without needing the written instructions. It looks great.
The instructions that came with the cover did not show how the bracket mounted on the Ridgeline, but the video you guys produced covered it well. The only issue I had was that the Honda bed upper front hold down point brackets did not fit over the Tonneau Cover brackets, so I left them off. This may be because they strengthened the cover bracket by putting a notch in it. My plan is to grind the Honda bracket to allow space for the obstruction.
Thanks again I am thrilled with how easy it was!

I've had this extang trifecta tonneau cover on my Dakota for over a year now and absolutely love it. It fits perfect and doesn't leak. It's still in great condition, even after the crazy hot summer and frigid winter here in new england. It still functions perfectly as well.

My previous cover was a snap button type and there were over 40 buttons to snap or unsnap to put the cover on and take it off. This trifold cover makes life so much easier.

I definitely recommend lubricating the threaded rod that's on the slide handle to make sure you can easily pull to lock or unlock the last portion of the cover.

Great cover!

by:

Definitely does not fit as good as the original one.

by:

In use for one year. No wear and tear. Looks great. Works great. Thanks.

by:

I have tried a few other brands in the past and am very impressed with the ease of installation and how secure this cover is. Compared to Velcro models I feel this cover has a huge advantage when traveling in high wind conditions.

This is the second time I have bought from etrailer and have been very impressed with their follow up and service. Their prices are as competitive as anyone too. I’m sure I will buy again from etrailer in the future!

by:

It has been a while since I received my bed cover and I still love it. I had a custom cover made for a 1986 Mitsubishi Mighty Max Pickup. The fit was amazing and it enhanced the look of the truck ten fold. I use to have a snap bed cover and I had all the snap holes filled and repaired before installing this new cover. The new cover came with support bars under the cover which is a great feature, But after time the bars have started leaving an impression on the cover that shows on the surface. Other than that, I am totally satisfied with everything else.

by:

love the cover. quick releases are only on the back. Harder to remove fully when needed

  • Will the B&W Companion Fit Under a Tonneau Cover on a 2022 Chevy Silverado 2500?
While we have not tested the B&W Companion Hitch # BWRVK3710 with the BAKFlip MX4 # BAK24FR on an 8-foot bed 2022 Chevy Silverado 2500, there are things we can look at to give you a good idea of compatibility. The first thing to note is that the Companion has three hitch height settings, with the lowest being 17 inches. We also know the BAKFlip MX4 will sit approximately 1-1/2 inches below the top of your Silverado's bed rails because this is a low-profile cover that installs inside the...

  • Will The Extang Trifecta Work On A 2025 And 2026 Chevy Silverado 3500 With An 8 Foot Bed?
Hey Dave, I am not sure if there is a bug on or site, or it was just recently updated. The Extang Trifecta # EX87XR that you mentioned is a confirmed fit for both the 2025 and 2026 Chevy Silverado 3500 with an 8 foot bed. There is a chance just due to the truck being new we were waiting on confirmation from the manufacturer that it will fit the new model. Which it looks like we did get confirmation and it will fit. It looks like there were no major changes in the new year vehicle so...
