Ok the cover is great if you use it to secure items in the back but, the down fall is how the system attaches to the Ram trucks. The pressure applied by the bolts for securing the side rails causes the manufacturers bed rails to buckle in the middle which, is minimal if you live in a cold climate but, for the majority, it causes issues. I love the security but I hate what it does to my bed rails. 267349

This cover has been perfect for my application. Previously I had an electric motorized unit that leaked badly when it rained and had no mechanical override in the event the truck was not running. Hi Mardy. I have heard this to be a difficult install and the latches to be stiff (though adjusting them helps), but noisy, flimsy, and poor quality are firsts for a BAK product like this.
What kind of noise are you getting? Is something maybe not tightened down all the way causing part to stick up? And, what part are you finding flimsy or poor quality?

I bought this cover so when I tow my fifth wheel camper I can open up and still leave a section closed to cover my air compressor and inverter and when I drop the trailer I can cover my hitch and lock it. It works perfectly for my application. Great quality and sturdy. 1569401

The tonneau cover is excellent when you get it installed properly. I can only give it a 3 rating because the workmanship of their latches the way they installed them was very shabby. Had to move all the latches back into their frame so they would not hit the side rails, had to re-drill holes that fastened most of the latches to the frame. If they would have taken their time installed the latches properly, then it would have been an excellent tonneau cover all over. 358581

Actually its closer to two years and I could not be more pleased. I have done a few rainy road trips and the one thing that worried me was if it would keep the contents dry and it did. Al else about the cover has been good too. Good product and it fit like a glove.

This is the second BAKFlip G2 Hard Tonneau Cover we have purchased. The first was for our 2005 Chevy. This is for our 2017 GMC. The 2005 fit much better. The 2017 model is not wide enough to actually fit the bed allowing water to easily enter the bed. Also the posts that hold the cover up against the cab were drilled wrong. You have to remove the slide to fit the prop rod. They simply drilled the hole for the nutzert in the wrong spot on the passenger side. Just not the same quality fit or finish as the 2005 version. We would have returned it but sending it back was going to be too much of a hassle due to its size.
This cover is now completely junk due to a hail storm. No fault of BAKflip but the hail storm destroyed the cover is seconds. The aluminum used in this model is just too light to protect from any type of impact. 564418

We purchased the BAK Industries BAKFlip G2 Tonneau Cover for our 2019 Ram 2500. We use this cover for security/keeping the weather off of our camping accessories for our RV. The cover works great and is fairly waterproof. The only issues we have had is the 1st latching cable, most of the time we need to pull the cable release from both sides to release the locking lugs to open. Over-all a good purchase, and would recommend it for anyone looking for a hard cover. 880407

Overall, a good product. This is the third BakFlip I've owned on different trucks. Quality wasn't as good as older units. The wires to release the latches are too long and get trapped inside the cover so you can't reach them. I added pieces of tape to fix this problem. Also, the nylon straps to hold it open are a nice addition but the plastic buckles broke almost immediately. Older units with metal rings for you to attach bungee cords was a better design.

This is the third Bak flip G2 Yard Tonneau Cover. Like that they are strong enough to hold test shap and fold flay enough the I can use the bed camera on my F-350 to help me hook up to the 5th wheel. And when it is closed and my tailgate is locked does provide some protection against theft of anything in the bed. I would recommend the cover to anyone that needs one. 1681250

Generally this cover continues to perform well. There is a small leak, which I haven’t been able to locate, but it’s not enough to do any harm to whatever may be in the bed. I would still recommend this cover.

Hey Justin, usually in this situation the Adarac would be what you'd want but unfortunately it does not look like there are any that fit your truck.
Alternatively, you could use the Yakima OutPost HD Overland Truck Bed Rack w/ Tonneau Cover Adapters # Y01152-5855 with the RetraxONE XR Hard Tonneau Cover # RTT-60811, but I get that would be a big ask considering you already have a tonneau cover.

The BAKFlip G2 Hard Tonneau Cover - Folding - Aluminum # BAK26101 has an automatic latching panel system so it will secure your truck bed when you lock your tailgate. There is a release for the locks on either side of each panel that will allow you to pick on of those two locations to pull the release cord to unlock that panel. While we don't currently offer the one-piece fiberglass tonneau covers you're referencing we do have other hardtop options for a 1992 Chevy C/K Series 1500, as long as it's not a stepside bed.
The Extang Solid Fold 2.0 Hard Tonneau Cover # EX83540 is one of the easiest tonneau covers to install or remove. I recommend this style if you have to have a clear bed for hauling since it can be removed in seconds and is super lightweight.

Replacement parts are still available for the discontinued Extang Platinum Classic tonneau cover on your 2002 GMC Sierra 2500 6-1/2' bed. You should have Extang part number 7940 which is the Platinum Classic for 1999-2006 Chevy/GMC trucks with the 6-1/2' bed. In this case, the correct replacement tarp is Replacement Cover # EX6940.

The Adarac ladder rack from ACI installs atop the bed side rail, using the stake pockets as attachment points. Because your BAK BAKFlip G2, tonneau cover leaves the top of the bed side uncovered, it will be compatible. Due to the style of tonneau you have, you'll want a ladder rack with uprights that extend at a 90° angle to the bed side so the uprights won't interfere with the cover folding up against the rear of the cab. For the Thule TracRac SR ladder rack, you'll want to use a tonneau cover with rails that mount to the inside of the truck bed side that leave the tops of the bed side (specifically the stake pockets) uncovered.
