I bought my Flip Top truck bed cover from you and have been absolutely satisfied with the product. It was easy to install and is easy to use. I've had numerous people comment about how good it looks and how easy it is to use. Thanks for your service and attention to quality. In the future, if I need another product for my truck, you will be the first stop for finding that a product.
I give an average simply because the fit of the tailgate on my Ranger is not good. Gaps are just to big. There are areas that the gasket just is not thick/deep enough to make a perfect seal. It did make a positive difference, still lets some water in.
The truck had been sealed with a rhino liner which also covers the lip where the truck bed seal is to be placed. The seal did not seal to the rhino liner very well. I have removed and applied double gorilla tape but the seal still sagged. I removed and have applied silicone caulk. So not a good seal. I think I’ll have to start over.
This is the fourth truck that I have installed the tailgate sealer on. I have tried different products, but etrailer’s product seems to do the best job. The adhesive used on their product is superior ... it doesn’t slip out of place after extended opening and closing. Their product seems to be of a heavier rubber material and so far much more durable. While I haven’t abused it over an extended period of time, to date, I’m extremely satisfied with etrailer’s tailgate sealing product.
A year now post installation of the Tailgate Gasket and the gate seal has done the job I had hoped. Adhesive has withstood a cold winter and hot summer without de laminating or pulling lose it closed what was in some places a half inch gap. My shell enclosed truck bed stays dry in the most extreme rain conditions and dust/debris accumulation reduced to nearly nothing. An inexpensive fix to a annoying problem. Highly recommended.
Hello George,
Thank you for taking the time to contact me. The TailSeal is still firmly attached. I followed the installation instructions to the letter and it has not failed. My only disappointment is it does not keep all dust from entering the bed.
I rarely go on gravel but it is occasionally necessary in Iowa. Dust comes into the bed about a foot from the tail gate. I did not expect the product to correct Ram's design flaw but hoped for an improvement. It improved but didn't eliminate the flaw. Still, given the price, I would purchase again. I'll just not set an uncovered cake within a foot or two of the gate. I don't like crunchy cake. Also, I don't use my truck for business. I'm a gentleman pickup owner, whatever that is.
Again, I do truly appreciate customer service and etrailer is a fine example of it.
This is the widest one I could find. I was able to work with my dealership's auto body group to seal my 2019 Ford Ranger tailgate gap.
Great product. Easy to apply and keeps the snow and dust out. Your results depend on you installing it in the correct place. Don't expect the instructions to tell you precisely where, as truck tailgate designs vary. Do it right, and it works.

Working as designed after 2 years installed
I made the right choice. Took my time, watched a video, cleaned surfaces. All gaps on tailgate sealed.

The seal is still in great shape. Virtually no dust entry. Had to apply added adhesion on a 2 in long spot at the end of a bottom run. No biggy. The rubber is good and has the same flex for sealing. Glad I did not rush the installation because it pays off. Used some excess seal to use on my camper top back window. I would definitely use this rubber seal again if needed or on another pickup.
Blocks about 80% of the dust. It is difficult to get a complete seal because of curves & gaps in the tailgate area (Toyota Tacoma 2018)

The seal is stable after a year with no problems. Keeps about 90 of the dust out. Tacoma 2018 4x4 long bed with diamondback cover.
I used this to seal around my Ridgeline dual action tailgate. I already had installed a backflip hard folding cover. The seal works great. I now get a very small amount of water in the bed in a hard rain

Great. The only water comes via the folding cover. The seal around the tailgate seals against water and importantly, dust really well.

The seal works in most areas of the tailgate. However, it does not seal near the top of the tailgate. My truck is a 2012 Chevy and has a curved area near the top where the tailgate latches. So, there still is a gap where the seal does not mesh up with the closed tailgate. Wish the material were made model specific. I am going to monitor how much dust will enter the box.

Same for my 2011 F150, doesnt seal the top on either side of the tailgate.
Product was delivered in a timely manner. Cleaned all contact spots with alcohol before installation. This was on a 2018 Ford F150. Installation took about 20 minutes. Seemed to stick very well. As with most all pickup beds, to get a tight fit I had to double up the product near the top corners of the tailgate. Will have to see how that sticks moving forward. Not sure why no one makes a tailgate seal that is model specific. I know I would personally pay more for such a product. That being said, this is the best product I could find and I am very pleased with it.

Still staying on. I would be willing to pay a bit more though for a seal that was custom made to fit my truck. The bottom and about 2/3s of the way up the sides fits very well. The remaining one third still had large gaps. Doubled and tripled the tape up and it is much better. Custom fit would be really nice. From reading reviews this is a issue with many models of trucks.
Finally got to the post office and received your package. Everything looks great. Should get these installed this weekend. Thank You so Much. I really appreciate your fantastic Customer Service. Thanks Again, Brian Baldwin.
Fit ok fast shipping. Great company
It work out well
Product was used on a 2015 Dodge Ram 3500. All of the surfaces were cleaned with Isopropyl Alcohol. On the maiden voyage less than 350 miles, 90% of the strip across the bottom was blowing in the breeze. Side pieces remained intact.
The gasket was fine, applied easily, held well for my 2024 Ford 150. However, for the sides of the truck bed it simply wasn't thick enough near the top of the tailgate (which is a common gap area for anyone). Can't fault the gasket quality and it has a good shape, but even two-three layers were not adequate. My husband had a different, thicker brand and I used his leftovers, which were perfect. I don't regret using this brand and style, but you will certainly need more than one thickness type to finish the top of the box area. There is also no mention in the directions to place a curve of gasket on the bottom corners of the tailgate, I had to see it in multiple application videos of other makers. If you don't place an additional arc of gasket to the lower corners of the tailgate, you will have a decent gap at the bottom corners. There was not enough gasket in the package to do this and double up the upper corners as well, so I was short and had to order another brand to finish up.
My 2024 GMC Canyon has a topper on the bed. Because of the gap around the tailgate, after driving on dirt roads, I'd get a film of dust on everything inside the bed. It was a pain to clean out. I found this tailgate seal at etrailer.com. It is awesome!! It completely filled the gap on the bottom and both sides. Have not driven on a dirt road yet, but am confident that the dust will be eliminated. Excellent product, easy installation. Thank you etrailer - the easiest and most helpful company to work with ever.
After removing an old seal which hadn't fully filled the gap around the tailgate, I installed the new Trailseal Gasket on my 2017 F150 in 15 minutes or so. The only potential problem area is at the lower corner of the tailgate where the metal is curved near the hinge. I added small piece of gasket directly on the tailgate to better seal the gap. I had also done this with the old gasket and it seems to stay in place OK.
I live in Western Colorado which has plenty of dirt or gravel roads. The day after installing the new Trailseal gasket I was on one of those gravel roads and it appears that very little if any dust got sucked into the bed. The truck also has a tonneau cover, so if the seal is good, the interior stays reasonably dust free.
This proved to be an excellent product and did what it was advertised to do.

It was not only great talking to you, but the tailgate seal installed perfectly. You walked me thru the correct way to install it. Now, all I have to do is w2ait for a snowstorm ( so far late this year !!) and see how it works. Thanks again
I ordered the TrailSeal Tailgate Gasket for my 2022 Ford F-150 Platinum which has a power tailgate. The install took about 15 minutes and appears that it will do a good job of sealing out dust and snow. The kit had good instructions and contained more than enough material. After installation the tailgate closed and locked with a push of the button. When installing make sure you have everything lined up the way you want as the adhesive will not let you reposition the gasket.

Still staying in place, does a good job of keeping dust and snow out
Would not recommend sealing bottom of tailgate. Dirt and debris collects, causing cocern of rust issues. So when warm weather returns I’ll try to completely remove seal from bottom of tailgate. Still get dust getting sucked into cargo bed.

Works fine but not suitable for bottom of tailgate, as noted in my original comment.
Seal seems to work well. Adhesive has held well over the past year. No significant noticeable wear or tearing of the seal itself. I did have to double layer the seal in some small areas where the gap was wider.
The installation was all very well documented in the instructions and went well.
The only issue I ran into was fit on my 2026 Ford F150 Powerboost XLT 4x4. This model has what Ford calls “viscous dampening” for opening the tailgate. That puts a long bump and alignment peg on the bottom of the tailgate on the passenger side. It squashes a bit more in that section and a slot in the seal must be cut to accommodate the alignment peg.
Once those changes are made, the seal seems to work well.
