Keep your tools protected and within reach without opening the entire box. This 71" crossover toolbox fits full-size pickups, with independent gull-wing lids that let you access just the side you need.
You've spent good money on your tools, so tossing them loose in the bed doesn't make much sense. It can be aggravating watching expensive tools get beat up just because they don't have a protected place to ride. They get knocked around while you drive, buried behind whatever else you're hauling, exposed to the weather, and left where anyone can walk off with them. This gull-wing crossover box gives them an enclosed place behind the cab while leaving room underneath for tools or other cargo in the bed. The included J-hook hardware mounts the box without drilling into your truck.
Give either locking knob a quick bump with your hand and the latch releases, letting the gas struts take over and smoothly raise that lid to nearly 90°. Independent gull-wing lids let you open just the half of the box you need from either side of the truck. Reinforced hinge points maintain alignment as the lids open and close, while full metal shields protect the struts from tools and equipment shifting inside the box. A full rubber weather seal surrounds the lid openings to help keep dust, dirt, and weather away from your gear.
A large open compartment gives you room for bigger gear, but small tools get buried when everything shares the same space. A sliding tool tray, level holder, and tool caddies on both interior side walls give screwdrivers and other frequently used tools their own places without taking away the main compartment.
The box is formed from one-piece aluminum diamond tread, with additional aluminum reinforcement at stress points throughout the enclosure. The aluminum resists corrosion, while the textured black powder coat covers the exterior.

Hi everyone. Steven here with etrailer. Today we're taking a look at our Westin Brute 71 inch long Gull Wing style standard crossover toolbox in a textured black. Folks, they've constructed this of extra thick one piece aluminum with two different lids obviously, and it's a nice diamond tread pattern in a textured black. Now if black's not your color and you want something more shiny, hey, no worries, we got this in polished aluminum. Item number W53H sold separately.
Again, W53YH sold separately if you want that polished aluminum. Now they also put in additional reinforcement of that aluminum at the main stress points and the main points they're gonna take the most abuse. So they've really thought it through. If you're not sure what Gull Wing means, pretty simple, it opens both sides in a Gull Wing style on those two lids. Now as you can see, I've got a yellow tray on this side.
That tray can slide the full length. Over here, I've got a yellow tool accessory holder, and I've got that same tool accessory holder on the opposite side as well. So I do wanna close the one side and let's get a closer look here at this. So you can kind of see I got a couple screwdrivers fliers. You have another three spots just like that up there closer.
And if I spin it over here, there we go. And now you can kind of see the apparatus, the push button that's gonna open and close or open rather. And then that's lockable. You do get a set of keys and when it's locked, you can't get in it obviously. So you unlock it, you're getting outta your truck, your hands are full, maybe you got gloves on.
Instead of those traditional latch styles, all you have to do is simply come to the side, give it a tap, and it's gonna open under its own power. Now I slowed that down because I'm on a turntable today and it's not bolted in obviously, so I want it to fall off. But it has a lot of pressure. It's gonna open really quick for you. You got one, two gas struts. Again, reinforcements around the base of those. You have the sliding tool tray that can slide all the way over to the other side and back. It has aluminum dividers inside of it. So now I can change the size of my trades if I need to. You also get two sets of the no drill, easy, quick installation. J-hook hardware kits along with two foam with adhesive on the back, a double-sided adhesive foam pads. One on the driver, one on the passenger for installation on top of your bed rails so you're not scratching or scuffing up your bed rails. So again, reinforced aluminum right here by the latch mechanism. Reinforcement up here by the hook that latches into it whenever it closes. Now you can't see that, but it's up inside of here. And of course, you have a weather seal. It's a rubber seal, it goes all the way around both Gull Wings. That's gonna keep out dirt, moisture, debris, dust, weather, those kind of things. So it's a great option and it's a pretty deep toolbox. I was able to fit full toolkits and those kind of things. Chains, jacks, whatever you want inside of there. And it's an easy close. Again, nice textured finish. So before we wrap up, let's go ahead and go over some dimensions 'cause to me that's the most important thing. We wanna make sure this fits your truck, right This should fit most full size pickup beds. Again, 71 inches long overall, 20 inches deep from front to back, 18 inches tall from the top to the bottom of the toolbox. Now the base dimension, that's that part that's going between your bed rails. I got 60 inches long, that same 20 deep, and then 11 inches from that base part before it hits those crossover sides. So make sure this is gonna fit your truck. And other than that, you shouldn't have any problems as far as installation. Get a friend to help you maybe to set it in the bed. But other than that, should be pretty straightforward. As always, you can reach out to us here at etrailer.
