The UWS Slim Line Series offers full-size features for smaller truck beds by using the limited space in front of the wheel well. This toolbox sits along the truck bed 2-1/4 inches above your bed rails, fitting snugly behind the cab. The insulated, beveled, single lid opens to a full 90 degrees with the help of two super-duty lift cylinders, which raise the lid and hold it open as you load and unload your gear. The divided tool tray provides additional storage for smaller items, ensuring that they are readily available.

Today on this 2008 Ford F350 were going to do a test fit of part number UWS07045. This is the UWS low profile truck bed toolbox. Few things to know about this toolbox it is a crossover style and it sits on top of the truck bed side rails. This also has a low profile design it gives a little more visibility out of the rear windshield. It also comes with a sliding tray to store small items. Plus it comes with J bolt installation hardware.
To start off our test fit well go ahead and take the box and well go ahead and put it on the bed rails up by the cab and then well go ahead and push it up against the front of the bed. Now well go ahead and even it out. Make sure its even on both sides. Our measurement on each side between the bed rail and box is going to be about 1 inches. Lets go ahead and open up the lid and see how much clearance we have with the cab of the truck.
Looks like when you open it up its about even with the edge of the bed of the truck or about one inch away. From the bottom of the toolbox down to the bed of the vehicle is about 4 inches. Now this vehicle has a bed liner in it so if you dont have a bed liner youll have a little bit more clearance. Thatll finish it for our test fit of part number UWS07045 from UWS, on our 2008 Ford F350 Super Duty.

Box is has been good and fits the needs I had. The the slim box, leaves more bad for short beds. It did show up with a small ding when delivered, but it was on the back side so I didn’t worry about it.
Top notch works like a charm
Awesome UWS toolbox and excellent service from etrailer.com. The toolbox fits my F150 perfectly, and I had to install new Back Rack mounts. The toolbox is large enough to hold all the hitches, compression straps, tow straps, jumper cables, and bungee nets that were piled high behind our seats. It arrived in perfect condition, and it locks easily. It also opens with only one handle. The toolbox is the perfect size so I still have access to the area underneath for plastic tubs, or the front end of kayaks. Score a really great one for etrailer.com and UWS.
Incredibly well packaged. Look at UWS website for vid. Of how meticulous they are. Watch other videos for installation. Matter of minutes. Very well constructed. Only gripe I have is e trailer video showing measurements shows 12in.front to back (depth). In reality 4 in.up from the bottom, around the entire box sets in one inch thus leaving only 10 inches of space,not 12 for the bottom 4 inchesofthebox. Cohld havebeenamoreaccuratemeasurement. I cannotseethe lid from my rear view mirror which I like. About a foot of space under the box for cargo. A definite plus in a short bed. Best on line price was from e trailer. Arrived in 6 days direct from manufacturer. Very pleased overall, no more stuff on the floor of my cab.
I searched online for a narrow cross over box and found something at a couple of sites, but etrailer had exactly what I wanted, offered the best box and at a competitive price. Check out was easy and they upgraded my shipping to 3 days for free. It arrived just as they projected. The box fit my truck perfectly and I am completely satisfied. I have continued to look at etrailer for additional accessories and will recommend to others.
This Slim Line Series - 6.3 cu ft works very good with the side boxes on both sides of the truck. Have access to open from standing on the side of the pickup truck with the side boxes installed. Makes a nice combination for a pickup truck Installed on a 2022 F-150 6'5" bed.
Toolbox arrived in good condition and fit exactly how I hoped it would.
It definitely fits the truck better. The only thing I don't like are the hydraulics - they are WAAAY too stiff - it takes a herculean effort to close the lid.
I have a short box Ram 2500. I also pull a 5th wheel camper. A regular sized box would interfere with the hitch. This box works perfectly. It is not super heavy duty, but a good value for the price.
This tool box was a little tricky to install. I had a professional mechanic help me. It is now properly installed and looks great on my truck. I was so happy to discover that a slimline toolbox was indeed available. My crew cab Tacoma only as has a five-foot bed. A larger tool box would have left me with only about 3.5 feet of bed. This slimline box allowed me to retain four feet of bed, which fits my needs. Very fine box. Good workmanship. I am very pleased with it and would recommend it to others who need a slimline design.
Waited 3 weeks for tool box and payed $40 for special handling by UPS. Tool box was poorly packed in plain cardboard box and had two significant dents in it. etrailer offered for me to ship the box back for credit or give me a $60 refund for damage. I guess that means they are waiving the $40 for 'special handling' and taking a $20 hit themselves - wow. I kept the box and pounded out dents with rubber hammer best I could.
