Hi, everyone, Steven here with etrailer.com. Let's take a look at a TST TPMS or a Tire Pressure Monitoring System for the RV. Now, this is a gray scale display with included signal booster and six flow through tire sensors. So, as you know, TPMS lets you monitor your RV's tire pressure and temperature via the included monitor. It also works great with your motor home, fifth wheel, motor coach, or trailers. And again, the nice large gray scale widescreen monitor here provides early warning detection with both visible and audible alerts.
Now, this can detect blowouts, significant tire trains and pressure, tire temperatures that exceed 158 degrees Fahrenheit, and it refreshes automatically with new information from each tire every five minutes. The presets on the monitor will let you monitor up to four separate vehicles or orientations. You're gonna get six flow through caps here, and flow through just simply means I can add air to the tire, or potentially take air outta the tire as needed without taking the actual cap off itself. Now if I had to take the cap off or put it on, they gimme special wrenches here that are included to be able to do so. (components clinking) You get all the O-rings, all the washers, and the brass nuts here for installing those caps as well.
You're gonna get the signal booster, you're gonna get the monitor attachment here to maybe put on the windshield and hang it, or potentially the dash. You got the nice pad, and you've got the 12 volt charger and micro USB cable to let you charge the monitor with your vehicle's 12 volt accessory outlet. Now, the booster in here will strengthen the signal and eliminate electronic interference as well. So, you're definitely gonna need that guy. You get a nice sticker here with different markings on it so you can mark each cap, and then know which tire that's on, what orientation it's on, the vehicle, and those kind of things as well.
(people chattering distantly) So, it's a very simple installation onto your tires valve stem, again, everything's going to automatically refresh and give you the information on the fly as you're going. Now, as far as the monitor here, some quick dimensions, I got about three inches tall in height, about four and a half inches wide, and about an inch thick. So, it's a decent display monitor size. Keep in mind, you're only showing your tire information here and those kinda things, so it really doesn't have to be much bigger than what it is, which is a nice thing I think personally, 'cause then it's not taking up a lot of space on your dash for what information it's actually given you. So, I think it's just a a good size.
Now, the battery charge on this guy, if you lost power, is about four hours of runtime. I'm sorry, recharge time is about four hours to recharge it from empty, but it should last you all day long, no problem. Well folks, I think that's gonna wrap it up for our quick look at this TPMS system. Keep in mind, you can always purchase additional flow through sensors separately. (part thudding softly) If you need more than six, this kit is capable to monitor up to a 115 tires, so pretty impressive. Well, that's gonna wrap it up, I'm Steven, thanks for watching.
Excellent customer service!
The service was great and the product arrived without issues. Thank you.
Excellent product, very quick shipping and really easy to install
Easy to set up! Works very well providing constant updates!
Works as expected. No issues. Would definitely recommend.
In use for almost1 year. Very happy with performance. Peace of mind is what this product provides me. Highly recommend!
Works great. The downside is we have to remove the sensors to check add/remove air. Wish we would have ordered the regular sensors
Customer service was really great. I am very happy with the product that I had received.
Easy to install, easy to use and seems reliable so far.
After owning it for a year, TST TPMS = POM (Peace of mind)
The tire monitor seems good. The directions were not very well organized and left as many questions as instructions. The monitor connected easily and seems to stay connected in my short time of using so far. Caution: I did not realize when I bought this that rigid metal tire stems are required. Rubber ones are not stiff enough to support the weight of the monitor. I had to spend an additional $80 to replace the rubber stems with metal.
These work very well. I placed the little monitor on top of the dash to easily check the numbers. One time we were in very cold temps and the pressures were down below the limit I had set--boy howdy, the alarm works well!
Would I buy these again?? Yep.
Thanks etrailer
I forget I have it, which is the goal I think. The battery life on this thing is great. We travel 2-3 times per month, so I get a few months of life before I need to charge the head unit. The signal mostly worked before I hooked up the repeater it comes with. With the repeater in the battery bay, the tires sync up quickly.
Pretty good product. Setup was a little cumbersome but I got through it with the included directions. It is meant for an tractor trailer with many axles so that is annoying that you have to cycle through all the extra tire locations during setup but in the end it works well.
Would buy again and would recommend to others. Product was easy to install but programming can be frustrating. Display works great and is easy to see. Repeater antenna was absolutely necessary and with it no dropped readings. Metal valve stems are required.
Great peace of mind now while towing my 29' travel trailer. Wish I had purchased it sooner. I have had mt share of flat tires on my travel trailer with two of them I did not even realize I had a flat and my tire shredded and had to buy a new tire. One of them even damaged the tire in front of it but I did not see anything until that tire went flat on the same trip.
So glad I will be alerted right away and likely save a tire from being destroyed or save me from possibly having an accident with the inability to stop properly if my tire was flat. Again, great peace of mind! I truly recommend this product 100%.
On a trip a couple of years ago, we had a blow-out on one of the tires on the travel trailer. I have towed trailers for 40+ years, both cargo and travel trailers and I have always been able to detect when something was amiss. This time, however I was shocked when I had no idea that a tire blew until I was flagged down by a passing motorist. It was just luck that the trailer itself was not damaged. I decided to purchase a TPMS.
The system installed easily. The repeater transmitted the data without problem to the in-cab receiver. The rechargeable in cab receiver did not require recharging except at the end of a three week trip and even then there was plenty left.
I did have some problem understanding the instructions on how to program the unit, specifically, deleting un-needed axles as this unit is made with 18 wheelers in .Once I got the hang of it, things went smoothly. I will come back to report any issues, but for now it's a 5 star for performance. No deduction for my problems on programming.
