Want a hassle-free installation? The T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness is designed with a custom fit that plugs directly into your vehicle's existing wiring. No more cutting, splicing, or tapping into those complicated circuits. Whether you're experienced with DIY projects or it's your first installation, you'll have your trailer connected in no time with minimal hassle.
Worried about overloading your vehicle's electrical system? The built-in ModuLite power converter ensures that the trailer lights are powered correctly without straining your car’s wiring. This means you can safely tow your trailer, knowing that the brake and turn signals will work seamlessly without affecting your vehicle's tail lights.
Need compatibility with different trailers? This harness provides a 4-way flat trailer connector that works perfectly with the majority of trailers. It's also compatible with 5-pole, 6-pole, and 7-pole adapters (sold separately), giving you the flexibility to hook up any trailer with ease.
Concerned about corrosion or harsh weather? The harness is constructed with 16-gauge bonded wire and includes a dust cap to protect the 4-way flat connector when not in use. By using a small amount of grease on all electrical connections, you're adding an extra layer of defense against weather-related wear and tear, ensuring longevity and reliability in every weather condition.
Confused by different wiring systems? Most trailers use a simpler two-wire system, while vehicles often come with a three-wire setup. The integrated tail light converter combines your vehicle's brake and turn signals into one, making sure your trailer lights operate just as they should.
Having trouble reaching the battery? The kit recommends running a power lead directly from the connector to the car battery using the included fuse holder. This additional power connection avoids overloading the car’s built-in controls and provides a consistent, steady electrical stream to the trailer lights.
This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located inside your rear cargo area. You will have to remove the cargo door and some interior paneling to access this harness. Once you've plugged in the T-connector, run the hot lead up to your car battery. Connect the lead to the included fuse holder, and then connect the fuse holder to the positive terminal on your battery and insert the provided fuse.
Once installation is complete, the 4-way flat connector will be stowed in your rear cargo area.
It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.
A ModuLite power module is built into this T-One connector. Because most trailers run on a two-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of your trailer. This power module functions as a tail light converter to combine the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights.
With a ModuLite, your trailer's lights will be powered without overloading your vehicle's electrical system. Because the module draws power directly from your car's battery and bypasses the electrical routes that are used by a basic wiring harness, there is virtually no draw on your tail light circuits.
This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.

Wire harness kit was “plug and play”. However feeding the 12 volt supply line and accessing the “plug and play” connectors was “Challenging”. Thank goodness for etrailer and U Hall YouTube videos!! HIGHLY recommend watching them before you attempt the install. As for the 12 volt feed. Rather then cutting into the battery cover, there is room to feed the 10 gauge wire from the bottom up then crimp the eyelet on to it.
Just received my Curt trailer hitch, and there are two areas that have bifocals paint blemishes, including an area that is exposed metal. I will update my review if customer services comes through and makes it right.
I had an issue with a wiring harness being out of stock. It would’ve put the order months out from being delivered. The etrailer staff helped me replace that item and get the order in the mail that evening. 24 hours later and it’s on my porch! Fantastic customer service!
My trailer wiring harness for a 2022 Kia Niro EV arrived quickly and, after reading the instructions, I decided to have a local shop install it. The instructions were clear, but I didn't feel up to the task of running the 12V positive lead myself. The results are great with the harness connector being tucked in under the rear cargo area when not in use. When ready to use, the long wiring lead is sufficient to reach the trailer with extra slack if needed. The wires are held in place by the rear hatch rubber gasket without getting pinched. Everything works as advertised and I had a chance to tow my Zero SR/S motorcycle on a friend's utility trailer. I've also used U-Haul trailers and the lights all worked as they should.
Have bought several notches and one wiring harness from etrailer, all were easy to install and have worked very well! Instructions are simple and they tell you up front the estimated time and difficulty level of installation. Prices are great too!

Still loving it!
The package shipment was very efficient and the contents were exactly as described. The instructions provided were precise for my vehicle and easy to follow, and installation went perfectly. Initially my car dealer advised against wiring up a hitch on my KIA Niro for a light trailer, but when I showed them the photos and description of the custom etrailer harness, they were impressed and approved installation. Everything works just as hoped for to hook up my new kayak trailer. Thanks etrailer for a great product!
Does as described....great product
I followed the video and proceeded with install on the 17 Nero. I was worried it would be too much for me. Not an issue… all work I did was on my back without jacking up the car. Total job literally took me an hour sand a half. Instructions were ample and precise. It was a great buy
The hitch and wiring harness seem like great quality. I did not install and have sold my Kia Niro. Mow I have to sell my brand new hitch and wiring harness.

Sold my vehicle so I have a new hitch and wiring harness for sale.
It was supposed to be plug and play I had to splice into the car wiring harness
Even though this item isn't supposed to be compatible with the PHEV Niro, it does actually work with it. In fact, installation is a little easier than with the regular hybrid because you can bolt the power cord to the 12v battery in the luggage compartment instead of running it up to the front. If you're a little handy you can figure it out but other than that one bit the installation video is the same for the PHEV. I use this with the Curt 2-inch hitch for the Niro, which I had to modify slightly to fit the PHEV (had to take out a small notch on one flange with an angle grinder in order to clear a bit of frame support that I guess the regular hybrid doesn't have). As always, etrailer is a great company to work with.
Install Video online was spot on. After plugging in via flat 4 to 7 pin adapter it did not work. Wife turned off her car and restarted and it then started working. I added a wireless camera to the license plate bracket tapped the running lights and all is good ATT . I can recommend it but took 1 star off for the false start. Whether it was a connector issue or controller needed rebooted is unknown but I do have lights working on my camper and the camera is great since the Pup blocks sight lines of cars behind (wider/higher than my wife's Niro's mirrors ). Not now clear view behind trailer.
Installation is not for the faint of heart -even after finding the how-to video. Routing the provided power cable from the back to the front of the car, through the engine compartment and to the fuse block proved to be very challenging.
Installed on my 2022KIA Niro, which was not supposed to have a trailer hitch at all (electric) and it worked perfectly
This was very easy to install, and works perfectly. I installed mine on the PHEV model, and it was much easier than the standard model since the 12V battery is actually in the back next to the passenger side blinker, so I was able to run the power wire beside the right blinker wire, and never had to run a wire to the front. The whole installation took me less than an hour, and I have no experience.
Great product. Easy to install.
i haven't had a chance to install them but everything looks of good quality and expect them to perform good like past parts purchased from etrailer.
