Features to know about

Installs Without Cutting or Splicing: Plug-In T-Connector Harness

Wiring a trailer setup usually means tapping into factory wiring, but this harness skips all that. The Curt T-Connector plugs into existing connectors to give you a clean 4-flat trailer connection. No splicing or wire tracing needed—just plug it in and it’s ready for use with your trailer lights.

Protects Vehicle Electronics: Powered Converter Design

Built with an integrated powered converter, this harness keeps the vehicle’s sensitive electrical system isolated from the trailer wiring. That means dependable operation for running, turn, and brake lights without triggering faults or draining the vehicle circuits.

Simple Ground Setup: Ring Terminal and Self-Tapping Screw

A solid ground keeps your trailer lights working right. The white wire comes pre-terminated with a ring connector and includes a self-tapping screw so you can make a clean, secure chassis ground. Tighten it to bare metal and you’re done—no guessing about where to connect it.

Ready for Future Upgrades: 4-Flat Base for 7-Way Adapters

The 4-pole flat connector gives you standard lighting functions now and makes it easy to upgrade later. If you add trailer brakes or need a 12-volt charge line, you can pair this harness with a 7-way adapter kit such as an ETBC7 setup to handle those extra circuits when the time comes.

Built for Hidden, Clean Installs: Compact Plug-and-Lead Layout

The plug-and-lead design stays tucked away once installed, helping keep wiring protected from damage and out of sight. It’s a simple, hidden solution that delivers a factory-style finish while giving your trailer reliable power every time you hook up.

45 minute install. It takes a minute to find the plug under the dash. Drilled through my trunk and used a rubber grommet to route the trailer plug. Thanks

Everything is working great. I have had absolutely no issues with harness since installation a year ago.

by:

Easy hook up. Took me 6 minutes to install this system. Very easy. If I can do this, anyone can! Thanks etrailer!

by:

Would have saved 10 minutes if I had read the instructions included with the light kit. The plug will not fit... if you do not take off the protective cover. After removing the cover it takes 3 seconds to install the back part. I was lacking confidence and really did not want to get under the dash so I took the front wiring harness to my mechanic. By the time he was ready to work on it I was finished installing it myself. You just got to find the plug. Will use the self tapping screw to ground.
So I almost called twice, but glad I didn't need to.

by:

Super easy to install. Working great.

by:

Was simple to install. Rear harness long enough to reach over the tailgate and have plenty of slack at the hitch. Stows under floor in the spare tire compartment.

by:

great installation instructions - videos, and such.

unit installed easily.

The toughest thing was finding the connector in my car to plug it into.

all the required hardware and connectors were present in the packaging.

by:

This is a factory OEM quality product. The accessory pieces are all included and the instructions could not be clearer on installation and even storage of the wire and plug when not in use. The plug is a flat four and is self testing. I will be purchasing my hitch accessories in the future from etrailer. Great job girls and guys!

My order took a bit longer to receive than previous orders from eTrailer but I did receive it in less than 2 weeks. The trailer wiring harness for my 2007 Honda Element came with good instructions, was easy to install, and functions as expected. The price for this product was quite competitive. I am very satisfied with the shopping experience.

by:

The kit arrived a day earlier than expected. The tracking information provided by eTrailer also included links to online videos, photos, and text describing the contents and installation directions. When I encountered what appeared to be a discrepancy between my vehicle and a connector in the kit, I called customer support and was directed to more detailed information on the eTrailer website that resolved the issue. The customer support person was patient and helpful and the amount of information tailored to the use of the kit on my particular vehicle was impressive. The quality of their service and the fair price they charged will encourage me to do business with them again.

by:

Placing the order was easy, it has arrived quickly and you have provided information on installation. That looks to be easy as well. Coupled with a fair price it makes me a happy customer.

1. Great job on the quality and finish of the hitch and hardware. The only glitch was that one of the star washers which mount onto the long bolts on the inside of the frame had to be filed/reamed out to fit onto the long bolt. They are of hardened steel so a little work.

2. You may be able to cut down on the length of the long, through-frame bolts by at least 3/4-1". The same for the U-bolt that goes through the center tow loop on the bottom of the Element. (If you'd like I can send pictures.)

3. Both electrical connectors hooked up to the appropriate places in the vehicle wiring harness as per the instructions; the best I've experienced.

4. Previously I've ordered a hitch for a different vehicle through Amazon and the poor packaging arrived torn and missing an important component. Your boxed shipment, while more expensive, arrived in very good condition with everything secured very nicely to the outer box, (nothing rattling around!). Tell the folks in shipping "Good Job and keep up the good work!"

Works fine! The fit was great, everything works as it should

by:

The harness fit perfectly and works as it should. I installed myself and the manufacturer (Honda) did their best to hide the plug I needed to access but once I located it all went easily. The harness kit is complete with everything you’ll need.

by:

Really good product. Simple install. Had a little trouble fiding the Honda connector but after I looked up a picture on the web, I found it hiding behind another connector. I would really recomend to Curt that they put a better picture or discription (grey colored), of the vehicle connector used to connect their product in their instructions. Other than that it was plug and play!

  • Trailer Wiring Harness For A 2011 Honda Element
The T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118465, The Curt Harness # C56029, and The Hopkins Harness # HM11143225 are all the same when it comes to wiring your 2011 Honda Element. The T-One Vehicle Harness # 118465 is a higher grade of wiring (16 gauge) so it will be able to survive the elements longer then the other two harnesses. Every once in awhile there is a bad harness because it wasn't made right but I strongly would choose going back to The T-One harness # 118465 over the other two....

  • Trailer Wiring Harness Recommendation for a 2011 Honda Element
Basically the Tow Ready Harness part # 118465 and the Curt Harness part # C56029 are two different manufacturers take on the same wiring harness. Either will work and will accomplish the same thing. I like the Curt wiring harnesses better though as they use a more modern circuit board with makes them a bit more reliable.

  • Trailer Wiring Harness for a 2006 Honda Element EX-P
Trailer wiring harness # C56029 has not been tested and confirmed as a fit for the 2006 Honda Element so I cannot recommend it. The safe bet is to stick with a hardwire harness such as # C59496. I have linked the installation instructions for you.

  • Troubleshooting Trailer Running Lights That Do Not Work on Wiring Harness in 2008 Honda Element
Thank you for your hitch purchase earlier this year. When some trailer lights work, such as the brake and turn lights, but the running lights do not work properly, the most common cause is a weak ground connection. This is because a weak ground will be able to pass enough current to operate lights that come on sometimes, such as turn and brake lights, but NOT enough current to also operate the always-on running lights. If a certain function does not work at all at any time then it is likely...

  • Purpose of White Wire on Curt T-Connector # C56029 for 2011 Honda Element
The white wire with the ring terminal (see photo I edited for you) is indeed a ground wire. It would connect to a factory grounding point under the dash, if available. Otherwise, you can use the included self-tapping screw to attach it to a nearby metal portion of the vehicle body. Before driving the screw in, be sure the area behind it is clear of any wiring that could be damaged.

  • Parts Needed to Install 7-Way and Brake Controller in 2007 Honda Element
You will need to start with a 4-way trailer wiring harness (if you do not have one) for your 2007 Honda Element. For that you would want the # C56029 that you referenced as it's a direct fit for your vehicle and installs easily. From there you would need to convert the 4-way to a 7-way so that you can install the brake controller. For that you will want the Brake Controller Install Kit and 7-Way Adapter part # ETBC7. I attached installation instructions and an install video for this product...

  • How to Determine the Correct Ball Mount for 2007 Honda Element Towing Yakima Rack and Roll Trailer
It is best to choose a ball mount after you have the the trailer hitch installed. This is because the height of the hitch on your 2007 Honda Element will dictate the rise or drop that you will need. Unfortunately we do not know the height of a trailer hitch on a 2007 element, but I have attached a help article that explains how to choose the correct ball mount for you to check out once you have the hitch installed. I am not sure which trailer hitch you are interested in for your Element,...

  • Troubleshooting No Cruise Control of 2008 Honda Element after Trailer Wiring Install
First try removing the harness to see if the cruise control starts to work again. That will isolate the harness or the install as the problem. Next try carefully reinstalling it and see if the problem comes back. Sometimes a connector not seating all the way or a fuse not install properly causes odd issues. If that does not fix it the harness is most likely bad and would need to be replaced.
