Features to Know About

Plan a Larger Array Without Guessing: Supports Up to 3,200 Watts

Larger solar systems need a controller that can manage the added power without becoming the weak link. This 60-amp controller supports up to 800 watts at 12V, 1,600 watts at 24V, 2,400 watts at 36V, or 3,200 watts at 48V. Those clear limits make it easier to size the controller around your battery bank and plan future expansion. It is a practical fit for larger RV, marine, cabin, and off-grid systems that need to restore more of the energy used throughout the day.

Get More From Available Sunlight: MPPT Converts Extra Voltage Into Charging Current

This MPPT controller continually finds the array's most productive operating point, then converts excess panel voltage into additional charging current. This helps more of the available solar energy reach your battery as sunlight, temperature, and battery conditions change. In comparison, a PWM controller uses a simpler approach by operating the panels closer to battery voltage. That can work well for a smaller, closely matched system where straightforward operation and lower initial cost matter. With a larger array, colder temperatures, or a greater difference between panel and battery voltage, MPPT can harvest power that a PWM setup leaves unused.

Match the Controller to Your System: Four Voltage Options Add Flexibility

You should not have to replace your charge controller simply because your system uses a higher-voltage battery bank. This controller automatically detects compatible 12V, 24V, 36V, and 48V systems, giving you more flexibility when planning a larger build. It works with sealed, gel, flooded, and lithium deep-cycle batteries. Customizable parameters let you match the charging settings to the requirements of your compatible battery.

Check Charging Without Guessing: Screen Shows Status and System Errors

Bluetooth port

When charging slows down or something does not look right, the LCD screen and LED indicators give you a place to start. They display operating information, customizable parameters, and error codes directly on the controller. The die-cast aluminum housing helps release heat during operation. An RS232 communication port also lets you add a compatible BT-1 Bluetooth module separately if you decide you want phone-based monitoring later.

Protect Your Charging System: Built-In Safeguards Respond Automatically

Reversed connections, overcharging, overloads, and short circuits can damage batteries and other solar equipment. Built-in electronic protection monitors the system and responds when operating conditions move outside the controller's limits. Protection against over-discharging and reverse current adds another layer of support for your battery bank. The controller handles these safeguards in the background while you use the display to keep track of system performance.

Video Transcript for Review of Rich Solar Solar Charge Controllers - MPPT 60 Amp Solar Charge Controller - RS94VR

Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a real quick look at this Rich Solar MPPT 60 AMP Solar Charge Controller. Now this is designed to work with your 12 volt, 24 volt, 36 volt, and 48 volt battery and solar systems. This is gonna work with your lithium-ion, sealed gel, and flooded lead acid batteries. And this solar charge controller is going to optimize power output and battery charging, ensuring reliable performance for off grid and RV setups. This has an innovated MPPT technology which has a high tracking efficiency of up to 99% and peak conversion efficiency of 98%.

And this features electronic protection against reverse polarity, overcharging, over discharging, overload, short circuiting, and reverse current. This does feature diverse load control. It's also capable of charging over discharge lithium batteries. And this does include, as you already saw, this LCD screen and multiple LED indicators for displaying system operation information, customizable parameters and error codes. This also has, let me see if I can find it here, the RS232 port to communicate with BT-1 Bluetooth module and it has an advanced maximum power output tracking algorithm that can quickly locate the best working point in the IV curve to significantly improve the system's energy efficiency.

The user-friendly design is gonna make it a perfect addition to your solar energy system and the die cast aluminum design is going to allow for efficient heat dissipation. As you see, we have these fins here on the back. It includes everything that you see here. Let me see if I can give you some measurements here real quick. I'm gonna find my ruler.

So looking at the overall height, I'm gonna say right about 11 and 3/16 inches tall. The overall width, let me turn this around here, might be a little bit easier to measure. I'm gonna say, oh, about a little over eight inches. How about 8 1/8 inches wide And then the overall thickness, kind of hard to see with my black shirt there. Close to four inches, maybe slightly under four, but I think that's gonna wrap up our real quick look today.

I do hope that it was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.
