Can I Mount The Thule SnowPack On Subaru Outback Factory Roof Rack With Thule Roof Top Bike Carrier?
Updated 12/26/2024 | Published 11/02/2019 >
Question:
Hi, Just got a 2020 Subaru Outback Premium which has its own pre-installed/factory elliptical shaped crossbars. I just installed a Subaru Thule bike carrier, part # SOA567B020 mounted on the passenger side of my car. I would like to be able to attach a snowboard carrier to the driver side just need the smallest size that can fit 1 snowboard and maybe 1 pair of skis. Looking at the TH7324 but not sure if it will attach properly to my factory elliptical crossbars? Also wanted to know if I could have both the bike mount and snowboard mount on my car at the same time? Put another way, wondering if the snowboard needs to be mounted in the middle of the crossbars or if it can be on the driver side of the crossbars and have the bike rack on the passenger side of the car. Probably not ever planning to have both a bike and a snowboard on the car at the same time but I don’t want to have to keep setting up and taking down the racks when I change sports. Let me know if the TH7324 will suit my needs. Thanks,

The SnowPack is going to be perfect for you.
To start off, the Thule SnowPack # TH7324 is a confirmed fit on your Subaru's factory cross bars; Thule really does a great job at making sure that a lot of their roof rack accessories will fit a variety of crossbars and the bars on your Subaru are compatible.
Next, the Thule SnowPack can be mounted anywhere on the bars and its' compact design is actually meant to allow you to mount other roof mounted accessories like cargo boxes, or in your case- a bike carrier, at the same time. The SnowPack takes up 24" of bar space, so you'll need to make sure that with your new Subaru/Thule bike rack mounted to your factory crossbars you have at least that much room. As long as you've got that, you're going to be able to mount both the bike rack and the ski/snowboard carrier at the same time.
