When extra weight pushes your rear suspension down, these Coil SumoSprings step in to keep things level. The wedge-shaped inserts fit between the coils to add support right where you need it. Their microcellular polyurethane foam core adjusts progressively—the more you load on, the stiffer they get—so your suspension stays steady even under heavy loads. That means less squat, better steering control, and a smoother ride when towing or hauling gear.
Factory coils can bottom out when pushed hard, but these helper spring inserts absorb shock before it reaches you. Each spring cushions the space between coil loops to take the edge off bumps and jolts. The result is a more comfortable ride, especially over rough highways or during long drives with a loaded rear end.
Unlike air-based systems that need pressure checks and fittings, these polyurethane springs require no air or upkeep once installed. You just insert them between your coils and hit the road—no valves, hoses, or tanks to worry about. They’re built to handle oil, road salt, UV rays, and extreme temperatures without damage or leaks, giving you long-term stability with zero maintenance.
These inserts are custom fit for rear coil spring suspensions that are in good working order and install easily using basic tools. Once in place, they enhance your suspension’s ability to support weight without changing your vehicle’s weight-carrying capacity. It’s a straightforward way to firm up your ride and keep your truck level under load.

I had for a week now and so far so good. Ride without any load is a little stiff similar feeling to car with sport suspension and with a low profile tire. A little less comfortable but not that bad. With a heavy load that's when this comes to work. The height is almost same as without the load and the right is really good. The installation of this is very easy. The only thing is the groove is a little bit too wide for the spring.
The instructions, well!! lack a bit of detail. My first instinct was to return them . I called the manufactures tech line ,and got the 10-36 asap.
........ after that the install was a breeze !!
I am in the opinion these helper springs will stiffen the rear coil enough to balance a heavier tongue or small trailer weight.
Fast shipping!!!!
So far so good installed to mitigate droop while loaded...well see but installation was straightforward and so far goal has been met
Very impressed with the SumoSprings. Was hesitant at first, but purchased a set for my 2017 Hyundai Santa Fe limited ultimate that had a squishy feeling ride and looked like it sat a bit lower in the back. Installed these on the rear springs and raised the ride height 1" in the rear and the ride is much better already. I'll have to see how they do with a loaded down vehicle but without the SumoSprings, 2 adult rear passengers and 2 dogs in the very back, suspension bottomed out over decent bumps and was not a good experience at all!
5 minute install with no tools beyond a jack and a bottle of dish soap. Ride remains unchanged when not towing. Big help with sag when pulling a 27' cuddy cabin ( just under 9000lbs) with my '21 Expedition Max FX4
They have not affected the ride as I can tell, ho0wever, I have not towed my trailer as yet. we will see. They were super simple to install. No soap needed.
Install was simple. On daily day to day drive it made the rear a little more firm but in most cases you won’t notice it. The rear when loaded didn’t droop as much as it did before and the ride felt more compose. Instructions were a little vague or universal but it gets the job done. Overall it did just fine. The value for what it is and what you get or don’t get from it was the biggest issue. For 200 plus dollars there are a lot more options out there that gives more adjustability and option. For some foam/rubber like materials and only for the rear, it’s on the steep side. Hopefully in the future this can be addressed and it would be worth the 5 star.
Installed the CSS-1168R Coil SumoSprings Custom Helper spacers on a 2011 Honda Ridgeline 4 wheel drive rear springs. Installation took about 45 minutes including removal of tires. Once spacer was started the installation was easy.
Zip ties were a little more difficult because of the dust strut covers installed by Honda.
I could not place the SumoSprings in the middle of the coil springs to start installation. Rather I had to start lower on the coil springs, where the spacing is wider, and then slide the SumoSprings up to the middle.
I used a screwdriver run into the holes for that purpose to help slide the SumoSprings to the middle of the coil springs. Otherwise, the installation went well. There seems to be less squat in the rear of my '04 Highlander when my camping trailer is attached.
I installed a set of 1125 Sumo Springs in the rear coils of my Toyota RAV4 Limited Hybrid AWD to increase the spring rate ahead of a cross-country road trip. My RAV4 really sags with a rearward rake when passengers + rear cargo are loaded in the vehicle. This impacts the handling of the vehicle and throws off the aim of my headlights, which leads to other drivers flashing their high beams at me as my headlamps are shining in their eyes. Hopefully these Sumo Springs solve that problem. I’ve driven about 50 miles post install and can tell the ride is much more firm and stiffened up in the rear of the vehicle. The RAV4 feels much more sporty and planted.
The install was much more difficult compared to my Sienna. In our van, the Sumo Springs slid right into place - it was a 10 minute job and I didn’t need to remove the wheels. On the RAV4, this was not the case. I had to remove the rear wheels to gain enough space to work the Sumo Springs into position between the coils. The fit was also much more tight; I had to really jam the Sumos into place and slide them into the center of the coil (it was a real arm workout). The Sumo Springs also overlapped about 2”, so I removed and trimmed each down with a razor knife to achieve a ~.5” overlap (per the supplied instructions). Install time was about 90 minutes as I had to remove the Sumos and trim them - which doubled my labor time.
Time will tell to see if these work, but I’ve had a set of Sumos in my Sienna for about 15k miles / 1-year and they have done just fine, so I suspect these will too.
Worked very well. Easy to still after I figured out installation.
Put them on today. Pretty easy. Got 1/2" lift too. Gonna hookup my teardrop tomorrow to test them. See if it squats as much. Probably not. These are sooo expensive, but nothing compares.
These Sumo springs helped my 2015 CRV not sag in the rear. I carry parts and tools in the back constantly and now it rides as it should.
Easy to install with helpful videos from etrailer on YouTube.
Sumo Springs helped a lot with rear sag on the Highlander when hauling heavy trailer loads. No negative effect on front end handling. So far.. so good! Will see how pulling at 7x14x14 tandem axel trailer will do next.
I recently installed these along with new Monroe struts on my 2010 Toyota Highlander. What a game changer. We tow a Rockwood Freedom 1910. While the Highlander has plenty of power and decent towing capacity, I was unhappy about how the vehicle rode and sagged when towing the camper. Those days are long gone. The Sumo Spring raised the ride height about an inch overall and it doesn’t sag much at all when towing. The ride is a little stiffer but the Highlander handles so much better. No body roll when cornering and not a lot of forward pitch under braking. These Sumo Springs Sumo Springs are worth every penny.
Took about an hour to install because I had normal jack and wanted to take tire off for easier access to spring. Once I had the tire off it literally took 1 minute to feed the support on. I did use warm soapy water as one video suggested. Looks like it raised the rear about an inch and looking forward to less sag in the ride with 20 ft travel trailer attached.
As mentioned in previous reviews, these SumoSprings Helper Springs resolved the known 2025 Toyota Highlander Hybrid sag issue when there is any weight on the hitch or in the back of the vehicle. It completely eliminated it on my 2025 Highlander. Installation was extremely easy (less than 10 minutes) after watching the Etrailer and SumoSprings installation videos (you really only need to watch one of them as they are almost identical). I highly recommend these SumoSprings Helper Springs if you have any issue with sagging on your Highlander.
Another great experience with eTrailer!
Had a quick question and Kaleiya T. regarding the provided part number and Sumo Springs fitment on our 24' Toyota Sienna XSE. She called me back within minutes - sourcing and clarifying the answer. Love these personal interactions and NO A.I. at eTrailer that really spoils the customer service experience. eTrailer absolutely sets the bar
consistently high each and every time! The install video(s) from eTrailer on YouTube made installation seamless, especially the tips like soap/water (for both cleaning the surfaces and transitioning the bushing onto the factory suspension coil spring!
I installed a hitch on my Subaru Outback. These were a great addition. It added an additional 2" lift. You need to follow the directions exactly. When it says to use soap to help squeeze it in between the coils use it liberally. It takes strong hands, but once you start it's easy to wrap into the coil of the rear suspension. Great product.
2026 Subaru Outback Touring XT. The Sumo Springs installation was completed without issue. They effectively mitigate the trailer's 200 lbs. tongue weight, resulting in less than 1 inch of suspension sag. No adverse effects on handling or ride comfort have been observed. The only installation discrepancy noted involved the overlap. While most instructional videos demonstrate zero overlap, I confirmed with the manufacturer, SuperSprings, that up to 1 inch of overlap is acceptable. They ultimately advised that the units can be trimmed to preference for a customized fit and gave no definitive answer. I personally set my overlap to 1/2".
I'm not sure if this picture does it justice, but the before pictire with the boat covered, there is noticeable sag in the rear. Dealt woth that for a year. Installed the coil sumosprings helper yesterday and she's level now.
Tip, when installing on an older vehicle with rusted springs, take some extra time to sand the springs until the feel smooth. Do that and the dish soap and they go on pretty easy.
Fit great on my 2013 Tucson rear springs...don't bottom out now with motorcycle carrier on the hitch...easy to install from the side with the wheels off.
