Hello neighbors, welcome back to etrailer.com. I'm Steven, and today we're taking a look at this Rhino-Rack backbone mounting system for your Pioneer platform. Now again, this backbone system is gonna reinforce the structure of your factory hard top so that you can carry more weight on top of your roof rack. Now this kit comes just like I've got laid out here, this nice cardboard with the pictures, the hardware layout, the orientation of everything. Very, very impressive, just straight out of the box honestly. You lay out the cardboard piece, put all the parts on top.
Number one, you're gonna figure out that you do have all the parts and that everything is in the orientation needed for installation. So it's very, very nice. You could slide in the back of the Jeep, have it all there ready to go. Now there is some mounting hardware and you're gonna have to do some drilling on some of the hardware, you know, as far as getting the hardware rather installed. But it's not a big deal.
It comes with instructions. You're not gonna have any problem whatsoever. Now the main thing with this is that it's gonna allow your hard top to bear a heavier load when compared with just a roof rack mounted directly to your hard top itself. This isn't gonna interfere with the removal of any freedom panels or the hard top itself. And what's nice is the internal brackets, they actually install around the window frame itself, and that in turn is gonna bear the weight of all the mounting that you're gonna have to do on top of the outside of the Jeep.
So very nice design. It's gonna have six external platforms. They're gonna provide a flat, stable mounting point for the Pioneer system itself, and there's just a view of some of them. They got nice padding on the back to help protect everything. Those are nice, heavy duty metallic material.
All the steel is heavy duty powder coated. You're not gonna have to worry about corrosion, rust, that kind of stuff. Now, to use this kit, it will require either three Rhino-Rack vortex aero bars, or heavy-duty crossbars. Those are sold separately. You will also need two sets of the legs that are sold separately for the Rhino-Rack. And also you will need a spacer kit that's sold separately for each of those heavy-duty crossbars. Now folks, from what I've seen, again, super easy install. The instructions are very, very clear on what to do. You don't have to worry about messing this up. I think anyone honestly could do it with no problem whatsoever. Folks, that's gonna do it for our look today at this Rhino-Rack backbone mounting system for your Pioneer platform. I'm Steven, have fun installing this and don't be afraid to try new things today.
