Video Transcript for Comprehensive Review: Valterra DWV Adapter for RV Sewer System

Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a quick look at this Valterra DWV Adapter for your RV sewer system. This is a sturdy ABS plastic adapter that's gonna add threaded connection to a 1 1/2 inch sewer pipe, so that two 1 1/2 inch pipes can be connected to move waste outside of your RV or motorhome. This does have the 1 1/2 inch hub that's gonna slide onto your sewer system pipe. It is recommended that you use some ABS solvent cement to make sure that that connection is gonna be nice and secure, that is sold separately, but you can find some here at etrailer.com using that part number that you see on the screen there. And then we are going to have our 1 1/2 inch MPT end that's going to thread onto our sewer system pipe there, so it is going to add that threading onto your pipe.

That 1 1/2 inch, of course, is gonna be the internal diameter of your pipe, so once you have this put in place, your 1 1/2 inch internal diameter pipe is going to have that same 1 1/2 inch MPT thread, so everything's gonna flow properly, you're not gonna have to worry about it getting bound up or restricted as it flows through. This does meet the International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials standards that you see on the screen there, so you can trust it is gonna do a good job, hold up well, and meet the specifications needed. Just to give you a few measurements, you can see this is going to be right at 1 3/4 approximately tall, our overall diameter is about 2 1/4 of an inch, our hub is that same external diameter, and then our internal diameter is gonna be right about 1 7/8 of an inch. Our male MPT threading is going to have an external diameter of 1 7/8 of an inch, and then the internal is gonna be that inch and a half. So everything's gonna work properly to make sure that your sewer pipe can be connected using those threads.
