Replacing a cracked or discolored skylight garnish means you need a proper fit without guesswork. This inner garnish fits standard 14" x 14" cutouts and diffuses harsh light, giving your ceiling a finished look and softer light inside.
Finding a replacement that lines up with an existing cutout can stall a repair, especially when exact specs are unclear. This garnish is built for a 14" x 14" cutout with a 16" x 16" flange, so it aligns with common opening sizes and provides full interior coverage. You can focus on matching the opening instead of chasing exact model specs.
After removing a skylight, exposed foam and wood around the opening can leave the interior looking unfinished. This garnish installs on the inside to cover those rough edges and sits flush against the ceiling. The result is a clean, finished look instead of visible construction materials.
Interior trim that sits too high can interfere with the skylight above or reduce usable space. With an approximate 3.5" bubble height, this garnish is shaped to nest without contacting the skylight when measurements are verified. You keep the intended clearance without unwanted contact points.
Direct light through a skylight can create glare and uneven brightness inside. The white polycarbonate construction diffuses incoming light as it passes through the garnish. This creates a more even light spread instead of harsh direct exposure.
Missing hardware during installation can slow progress if it is not expected upfront. This garnish installs using 1" screws, which are not included, and some people add butyl tape (sold separately) inside the flange. That tape can help block water from getting inside, while others skip it so any skylight leak shows up right away instead of being hidden. Having your materials ready and knowing how you want to seal it avoids delays once you start.

Hi, everybody. Andy here with etrailer.com. Let's take a real quick look at the Specialty Recreation White Inner Garnish for your RV skylight. Now, replacing your skylight should not be a regular job. This interior portion is made from UV resistant polycarbonate, so this is built for resist sun damage and last for years to come. This is gonna keep your RV protected from leaks and exposure.
So, you're gonna use this in a 14-inch by 14-inch size cutout, and the flange is gonna be 16 inches by 16 inches. And this is, like I said, this has a rigid design because of the polycarbonate, so this is going to stay put. You're not gonna have to worry about warping or lifting between screws after installation. It's going to soften harsh sunlight. This white polycarbonate's going to actually diffuse the light for a more comfortable interior.
There's not gonna be any need for modifications. Once installed, the flange is going to sit flush with the ceiling with about a 3 1/2 inch bubble height for extra headroom. Now, this does not come with any sealant or screws or anything like that, so I would recommend taking a look at the Specialty Recreation Skylight Insulation Kit. It does come with the sealant and the screws. And you can take that item number that you see there on your screen, pop it in the search field of our website.
That will take you to that kit and you can add that to your order. Now, if you do decide to pick this up, we would love to hear back from you regarding installation and how you're enjoying this. So, you can share your experiences with us by dropping a comment or leaving a review on this product page. We would love to hear back from you. Well, that's gonna wrap up our quick look today.
I do hope that it was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.
