Hello, everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer. Today we're gonna take a look at this RV Designer 5/16-inch by 2 1/2-inch Safety Lock Pin. Now if you want to keep your coupler latch secure, this safety lock pin right here is designed to help keep couplers securely latched during transit. Sometimes they call these a snapper pin, and the reason they do is because this wire loop just snaps on over the pin itself. This will help prevent accidental uncoupling while you're towing. The snapper pins give you a security of a pin and cotter combination in a single assembly.
Basically, to install this, what you'll do is pull that wire loop off of the pin, slide the pin through the hole in your coupler, all the way through, and then slip to snap this pin right on over the pin to lock it into place. Also makes it very easy and quick to remove it if you need be. Now to choose the correct size for your coupler, which you'll need to do is measure the diameter of the pin hole on your coupler and the width of the coupler where the pin goes all the way through. This pin here is designed to fit a pin hole of 5/16-inch diameter. It's the diameter of the pin right here, and it fits a usable length of 2 1/2 inches, which is the measurement of the inside right here.
This is a durable zinc-plated spring steel construction for reliable use. And this part includes one lock pin. Well, that's gonna do it for a look at this RV Designer 5/16th of an inch by 2 1/2-inch Safety Lock Pin.
