Hey everyone. I'm Ellen here at etrailer.com and today we're taking a quick look at the 3/8 inch coupler pin. This is going to be that little pin to keep your coupler latch in place while you're towing down the road. It also has this tension keeper to make sure that there's a good amount of tension on that so it's not going to come free while you're traveling. Again, that pin diameter is 3/8 of an inch.I'm going to give you some other measurements here. Pull this off, can look at the length of that pin.
It's about 2 3/4 inches from the end of the head to the very end of the bolt, or from the bottom of the head to the end of the bolt. As far as the usable space, the amount of space in between that, the head of the bolt, or the head of the pin and the keeper, it's about 2 1/4 inch, but you can probably get a little bit more out of that since there is that flex with the keeper. You can probably get almost a 2 1/2 inches of span or 2 1/2 inches of usable space there. The distance from the pin to the top of that keeper is about an inch and a half. The overall length about three inches, overall height, depth about 2 1/8 inch.Does have a zinc plating over the seals to help resist any kind of rust or corrosion.
So, it should last you for a long time. That's pretty much going to do it for our look at the 3/8 inch diameter coupler pin. If this configuration doesn't work for you, we do have a lot of other options available here at etrailer.com, So definitely check them out. Thanks for watching.
