Today we're going to take a look at the Jensen six-inch mini heavy duty top or side mount rubber mast antenna. Now, this uses a 90-degree adjustable base for top mounting like it is or if you rotate it 90 degrees, it will give you a side mount antenna. The rubber mast on it will help prevent breakage with is typically associated with metal mast antennas. On the very bottom here, it has a nice rubber gasket to help provide a nice water tight seal. Now, to install, it does require a 5/16 standard hole. Now, the overall height of the antenna again, put a ruler on that, you're going to see it's right at six inches tall and the cable that's attached to it that plugs in is 39 inches long.

But that should do it for the review on the Jensen six-inch mini heavy duty top or side mount rubber mast antenna.

I bought this to use on my motorcycle and although the lead that goes to the radio was too short I bought a extension cord and the antenna is still working as it should.Its small and easy to hide out of the way and works Great,you've got my approval!

product was priced right and like always from etrailer, shipped quick! Installed it last night and it gets excellent reception for a short antenna, wish the mounting bolt was a little longer as my boat fiberglass was too thick to mount it that way, other than that, great product.

This unit will not work with an existing 3/4" hole. It will only work with a 5/16" hole. etrailer needs to add this to their description. Wasted my money on this purchase.

Generally overall a good product, however the bolt in the head until was too short for where I mounted it. I took it apart and got a 1/2 inch longer one from the hardware store and all is fine.

The size of antenna is great for my purpose which was on UTV. Being flexible is also working in my favor. But reception isn't quite as good as I'd hoped, but for the small size it does ok in my area.

Can Just the Mast Be Replaced On Rooftop Antenna for RV Stereo
We do offer various different antennas for RV stereos like the Jensen Antenna part # 44US01R or part # JAN139. The difference mostly comes down to mast length, mount type, and cable length. The actual plug which goes into the stereo is universal so you don't have to worry about brand. That said, the actual mast is specific to the base which means you can't usually just replace this part so you'll need a new unit if yours is gone or damaged. Hi Jim, From what you're describing it sounds like you want something with a rubber gasket for waterproofing like that they have on cars. We have two antennas with that option, but they are significantly shorter than the AN110 you were looking at. Is There An RV Antenna With 2 Or 3 Foot Long Cable?
We do have Jensen In-Wall Antenna - AM/FM - 6' Long # AN140 which is 6 feet long total, but it comes with a threaded on wire loom to hardwire to an antenna, and it can be removed which leaves you with about 3 foot long cable that would work for you and thread right into your new antenna without hardwiring anything. We also have Jensen Antenna - Top or Side Mount - Rubber Mast - 6" # JAN139 which is an antenna with 44-3/4" long cable.

Can the Mast On the Jensen Antenna JAN139 Be Replaced With a Longer Option
It is possible to replace the 6" mast that comes with the Jensen Antenna part # JAN139 for a longer option but we do not have any designed for this purpose. If you do need a longer mast then the best option would be to instead use the Jensen Antenna part # 44US01R which can be top or side mounted just like the above but has a 16-1/2" long mast.

What Size Is The Base Of The Jensen Antenna JAN139
I had the folks in our warehouse measure the base of this Jensen Antenna # JAN139. The base is 2" tall and 1-3/8" wide. The antenna can be unscrewed from the base. Generally the threads are not generic and the bases will be brand specific to the antenna. We only have the Jensen brand antennas here, so I was not able to test this with other brands. That said, the antenna included with the # JAN139 is only 6" long.

Do you have an antenna plugged into the rear of the stereo? It sounds like your RV doesn't have an antenna so you'd also want the part # JAN139 so that you'd have the reception you are looking for.

Can Fixed Antenna Replace Power Antenna without Running Power and Ground Wires
Your power antenna has a few wires ran to it but can easily be replaced with a fixed antenna. It has the signal wire which is what picks up the radio station reception and also the power and ground to raise and lower it. If you replace the power antenna with a fixed antenna like the # JAN139 you'd just need to hook the wire that carries the signal up and you can leave the other wires unconnected.

Does the Jensen Antenna Part # JAN139 Swivel/Tilt
If by rotate you mean swivel/tilt then yes, the Jensen Antenna part # JAN139 is not a fixed antenna. As you can see from the attached video, the upright mast can be folded flat or swung upright. The base can also be mounted vertically or horizontally depending on your needs. I have attached an additional photo to show the swivel/tilt feature for you as well. What Type of Antenna Can be Used for Weather Bands
FM antennas aren't really ideal for weather bands. A better option is a VHF type anteanna like the # FAN73B7C.
