Hi there RV and camper owners. Today, we're going to be taking a look at alpha systems self leveling sealant. This is available in either white, black, beige, or almond, and comes in tubes of 10.3 ounces. You will need a caulk gun with it, so if you need a caulk gun, we had those available here at etrailer. So you can add one to your cart as well, to finish up your install. And this is a type of sealant that you would use pretty much on all of your roof accessory and roof repairs.
If you're adding a vent, you'll want to make sure you seal that up as well as put butyl tape on the bottom of anything you're running around. That'll seal up any screw holes and things you have underneath. And this is a second layer that'll go on top of everything to ensure that nothing can wick down the screws or in any of the seams. We're using it on our vent here and what we also got done using it previously. When we would just put these solar panels on over here, and you can see the self leveling sealant that was applied yesterday has dried today and leveled out.Once you've got it in your gun here, you do want to take a screwdriver or something and poke down the end after you cut the tip off. That'll just pop the seal, so that way we can squeeze it to get it out.
If you don't pop the seal, more often than not that when you start to use the gun, the pistol, when it goes in here, it causes it to burst here at the back and then you get it all over yourself. So now that we've got it ready to go, we're going to put a generous layer of this sealant all the way around the vents. And this one tube here is a 10 ounce tube. We've already used part of it, putting on our solar panels. So there's a good chance we're going to need a second tube in order to get this all the way filled up, because we do want to be very generous with this because we don't want any leaks in our system. And now I'm just going to put a nice, generous coating over the whole thing.
It's going to level itself out, so it's going to look nice when we're done. And this is going to completely seal the unit right onto the roof. And that completes our look at alpha systems self leveling sealant..
