Video Transcript for Epicord RV Wiring - Replacement Hardwire Power Cord - 277-000146 Review

Today we are going to take a look at the EpiCord 30-foot long RV power cord with handle and the 30-amp male plug. This part we'll replace an older, damaged RV power cord plug with this pigtail cord. The pigtail end right here, we'll hard wire to your RV's existing power cord wiring and the 30-amp male plug right here, we'll connect to the 30-amp receptacle at an RV park. This is a 30-foot long RV power cord. You notice it has this nice convenient handle on the plug right here to help you push in and also to remove it. This does use 10 gauge 3 conductor copper wiring in it.

You can see on the very end here, there's six inches of wire ends to help you make your connections. This has 30 amps. 125 volts. The plug on the end here is a NEMA TT-30P design. The cord type is STW.

This power cord does meet the CETL and ETLUS listings. That should do it for the review, on the EpiCord 30 foot long RV power cord with handle and 30 amp male plug.

The antenna picks up signal better than our previous equipment. The internal motor that spins the antenna stopped working after a few months. The warranty process was easy and we were sent a new unit very quickly. We are hopeful the replacement lasts longer than the original.

Nice replacement cord for my travel trailer. Like the pull ring molded into the plug head, makes it very easy to use....and it still fits into my RV cord door. Just what I needed to replace my whole cord because I don't like just the replacement plug heads...and this is perfect at the 30 ft length.

Excellent replacement cord, is good quality and flexible, coils nicely and the handle on the plug makes pulling it very easy. It shipped rapidly too, I received it in 7 days. I would definitely recommend this cord.

This power cord was purchased to replace the damaged shore power cord on a 1974 Airstream Tradewind. Worked great, was more flexible and gave us an additional 10’ in length.

by:

Cord appeared to be constructed well. Also had a pull tab on the plug end. Flexible enough to bend into tight storage areas. Nice product. Used it many times already.

  • How Far Does Handle of Epicord RV Power Cord 277-000146 Stick Out From Where it Plugs In
From where the plug of the Epicord Hardwire RV Power Cord # 277-000146 plugs into the outlet to the furthest point out measures 2-3/8 inches. Since there's no standard surge protector dimension you'd have to compare that to what you have to see if it would fit.

  • Wire Color Function on Epicord RV Power Cord
The Epicord RV Power Cord with Handle # 277-000146 hardwires onto your RV using the pigtail. The black wire is the hot power lead, the white is the neutral wire, and the green is the ground wire.

  • Recommended 30-Amp Receptacle To Hardwire To RV
I recommend the Epicord 30 Amp Twist Lock Power Inlet # 277-000137. The center to center distance for the mounting holes is 2-7/16 inches. If you need a power cord I recommend the Epicord RV Power Cord # 277-000146. This cord has the RV power cord with a handle. When hardwiring the cord to your RV the Black wire is the hot power lead, the White is neutral, and the green wire is used for the ground.

  • What Is The Outer Casing For RV Power Cords Made Of
The two brands we currently carry for 30 amp pigtail RV power cords are Mighty Cord # A10-3025END and Epicord # 277-000146. Epicord uses a PVC material for the outer casing of their cords and Mighty Cord uses a material they called STW (Standard Thermoplastic Outer Jacket) and would not further elaborate what it was composed of. Having handled both brands before I can say that they're really isn't much of a difference between the two besides Mighty Cord's casing having a bit more of a...

  • What Are The Dimensions Of The Epicord Hardwire RV Power Cord Plug
The plug of the Epicord Hardwire RV Power Cord # 277-000146 is approximately 1-3/4" wide x 3" in depth so it would fit through your access hatch. It is the longest hardwire option that we currently offer at 30'. Since you're fine with cutting the plug off you could just go with the Mighty Cord RV Extension Cord # A10-3050E, which is 50' in length and just cut the female plug off.
