What's up everybody it's Ajay with Etrailer.com Today we're going to be checking out this power converter. It's going to be the dog bone style. And what it's going to do is take this 50 amp plug, you plug it in here to the female end, and converts it to a 30 amp, four-prong, twist-lock. So this is going to be if you get to the campsite, there's no 50 amp places to park, You only have a 30 amp and it has the twist-lock, this is what's going to help you get that power. Let's check it out. Something I want to point out right away is this nice handle It's very helpful because sometimes these plugs can be a little stubborn when you plug them in and that's just extra grip, they have something to hold on to while you're prying it apart, it's really helpful.

But it's good that it has a nice, good plug. It's not going to pop right off or anything. It's nice and snug. There's no issues there. All right, so we're going to show you, this is where we're going to plug it in on our generator.

And you want to make sure you fire up, if it's a generator, you want to fire that up first, before you plug this in, but we're going to fire it up outside, not inside clearly but I just want to show you how to plug works. Just like that, and now it's plugged in. Once inside I'm going to flip on the lights, make sure it's working. Seems like we got power. So I said earlier that the dog bone is the more preferred adapter style because sometimes you have the adapters that has a plug here, and there's this big thing that's going to stick up.

And it's all going to hang from there which isn't good on the prongs. This one, when you go to plug it in it gives a little bit more length there. That way there's not so much pressure coming down on these. And it's not going to damage over time. This is going to last you a lot longer like this and just give you more cord to work with.

Overall, I think it's a good tool to have. I think it's going to be a good idea so you never know what the campsite is going to have when you get there. If you get there, there's no 50 amp spots open, you have to go to a 30 amp, I'd much rather have this in the basement, ready to go. That way you can divert and keep that power. It also comes with a weatherproof bag. You can put this in there, that way when you throw it in your basement door, you don't have to worry about anything getting into it or bothering it when you need it. Well, I think that does it.
