Speaker 1: Today we're going to take a look at an Interior LED Utility Light. This utility light is a great replacement fixture for fluorescent lighting or under-the-cabinet lighting. This would be ideal for your RV, camper or enclosed trailer, and it is designed for interior use. It contains a total of 50 LEDs. LEDs make great replacements for fluorescent lighting. They last longer.
They're much more efficient, and you don't have to worry about replacing bulbs, and you don't have to worry about any ballast malfunctions.This is a surface mount installation. It does come with mounting hardware for an easy installation. Mount holes are molded into the housing so you don't have to drill through this or anything like that. It's a nice design, very strong and durable unit. It is a three wire design, so your black wire's for power, green wire for ground, white wire for auxiliary switch.
The overall length measurement from edge to edge measured 14 1/8 inches long. The overall width from edge to edge was 3 11/16 inches wide. The overall depth from back to front was about 3/4 of an inch deep.The mount holes on this unit are these holes right here that go side to side, so from the center of this set to the center of this set, that was 9 5/8 inches, and then center on center up and down, they're separated by about 7/16 of an inch. This unit is designed for 12 volt systems. We're going to go ahead and hook it up to power, that way you can see what it looks like with power running to it.
I'm only using two wires for our demonstration. I just need to ground it and provide power to it. I'm not hooking it up to an external switch, but it does have a switch right here, a three function switch so on, off and then you would have a setting that would allow it to be controlled from an external switch.We'll turn off the overhead light so you can see it in a low light setting, and you can see here that it sends out a very bright consistent signal, so the multi-diode design really helps optimize the overall light output. When it comes to the light color, we're looking at daylight white. Color temperature is 5,500 K, brightness is around 480 lumens, and the power draw is around 0.35 amps.That's going to do it for today's look at the Interior LED Utility Light..

This looked like the exact same light that was on the larger Airstreams and the install was pretty easy. I tied it in with the awning lights so I can have extra light when the awning isn't out at night and now I can tell if the awning lights are on when the awning is retracted. Before there was no way for me to tell if the awning light button was accidentally pressed and draining the batteries all night.
We replaced all our overhead lights with these lights and LOVE them. They were delivered quickly and went up easily. It sure made a difference in our motor home.
