Speaker 1: Today on our 2018 Ram 1500 we'll be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Rhino Rack Roof Rack System. This is going to consist of the Rhino Rack Vortex Arrow Crossbars, part number RRVA150D-2, the Rhino Rack 2500 Series Legs, part number RRRLKVA, and the Fit Kit for our Ram 1500, part number DK043. Now, keep in mind that our crossbars are also available in silver, part number RRVA150S-2.The Rhino Rack Roof Rack System is a great solution for carrying your vehicle accessories on your roof, whether those are bike racks, ski and snowboard carriers, or kayak carriers. Aerodynamic shape of our bars as well as the weather strip on the inside is going to help to reduce wind noise and drag. If we remove the end cap on our crossbar, we're able to remove the weather strip on the inside of our channel, cut that down, and replace it with channel mounted accessories.Our leg kit does have the option to lock, which will help to prevent theft and tampering of our entire Roof Rack System. You will allow see our Fit Kit here is going to include the clamp, as well as the pad, and any portion that touches our vehicle is going to have a rubber coating to prevent any scratches or abrasions.
The Rhino Rack Roof Rack System has a 165 pound weight capacity, though you do want to double check your vehicle's manual to make sure your roof can withstand that much weight. It's also going to come with a limited lifetime warranty, and be quick and easy to install. We'll show you how to do that now.Now, everything that you see on our table is what we'll need to install our Roof Rack System. The only thing we're going to provide ourselves is a flat tape measure. Everything else should be included.
We're going to have our front bar already installed. We'll show you how to do the rest of our back bar. This will include an end cap for our crossbar, our leg, the end caps for our legs, the key to lock down our crossbar end cap, our keys to lock down our leg kit end cap, our included tool to tighten everything down, and then the clamp as well as the pad from our Fit Kit.To start off, we're going to take our Leg Kit as well as our Fit Kit and place them together. We'll remove the bolt from our leg. We can take our clamp and place it over where we just removed our bolts.
We can start to tighten down our bolt once again. We'll flip our Leg kit over, and we're going to remove the bottom piece. Then we'll take the pad, we place that on the bottom. We'll want to make sure that the arrow on our pad, which is right here, is facing forward on our crossbar. Once we have that placed on, we can snap it onto the bottom, and we'll place this onto our crossbar.I like to tighten down my bolt just enough so that it holds my foot pack level and it doesn't bend, but I can still move it.
Now we're going to measure out the placement for our leg. This is going to be 15.7 centimeters. That measured out, we can tighten down this bolt here. That's going to hold our leg in place. We can finish off the assembly with the placement of our crossbar end cap, and locking that into place.We've opened our vehicle doors. We're going to take our Roof Rack System, place it across our vehicle, making sure that our clamps sit around our door frame. Now we'll measure out our crossbar spread from the center of our front bar to the center of our back, and we want 75 centimeters. We'll make sure to do the same thing to the other side. Now we can tighten down our clamp, taking our tool and tightening it down so that our clamp sits just up against our door frame. Now we'll repeat this same process on the other side.We'll tighten down our bolts until the skinnier portion of our torque tool is completely straight, like we have here. Now we can take the end cap for our Leg Kit, we'll lock it into place, and we're ready to load up our accessories and hit the road. That's going to be our completed look at the Rhino Rack Roof Rack System on our 2018 Ram 1500.
