Light changes how your Sprinter feels inside. Without it, the rear cargo door section stays dark and harder to use. This fixed side panel window replaces that solid section with glass, so you get more daylight and a clear view outside.
This window replaces the solid panel in the passenger-side rear cargo door of your 2019-2021 Freightliner Sprinter or 2019-2026 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, any wheelbase. Instead of a blank section at the back of the van, you gain a fixed glass panel that adds visibility and natural light without introducing vents or moving parts. That section stays sealed while opening up the rear of the van.
When you drive over bumps or uneven pavement, the body of the van moves slightly. The glass in this panel moves with the surrounding metal, which helps reduce stress at the edges and lowers the chance of cracking. To handle that movement, this window uses tempered safety glass that meets DOT and SAE standards for road use.
The rear cargo door window sits at eye level from outside and creates a direct sightline into the cargo space. The 17% gray tint limits how much someone can see inside while still allowing visibility out. It also blocks 83% of UV rays, reducing sun exposure through that section of glass.
Cutting into the rear cargo door is permanent. The glass has to match the factory contour so the urethane seals evenly against the door. This window follows the original stamping profile, so when it is set into place, the edge matches the panel you just opened up.
After the opening is cut, a continuous bead of automotive urethane (VW74ZR - sold separately) is applied around the perimeter. When the glass is set into place, that urethane bonds it to the door and forms the seal that keeps water from entering the door cavity. This bond secures the glass and creates the weather barrier so you can bring in light without adding a vented opening.

Hi everybody. Andy here with etrailer. Let's take a quick look at this Van Windows Direct rear cargo door window for the passenger side. Now this has been designed to fit your 2019 to 2021 Freightliner Sprinter, then your 2019 to current Mercedes-Benz Sprinter. And on custom fit parts such as this window, I do recommend going through our vehicle fit guide here at etrailer. Pop in the year, make, and model of your vehicle.
And our fit guide will confirm if this will work for you or if we have something comparable that will work for you. Also, I just got a image there indicating where this is going to go. Again, I want you to be sure that this is going to be exactly what you want. So again, go through that vehicle fit guide to make sure that this is going to be exactly what you need. So this is an OE style fixed glass window that's designed again for the passenger side rear cargo door.
This is going to follow the same contours as the factory door stamping. So once the opening is cut, this glass is going to fit naturally against the shape of the door. And that's going to give you a clean factory style appearance. So this window is fixed, meaning that it, it doesn't slide open or vent. Instead, it's intended to add natural light and outward visibility without introducing a moving window assembly.
This glass is DOT and SAE compliant. It's tempered safety glass. And as you no doubt have already noticed, this does have a tint to it. That's about a 17% gray privacy tint. And you can kind of see me there like a shadow.
So it's got a pretty good, a pretty good privacy tint to it. And this is also going to block about 83% of UV rays while still allowing you to see outside. Now, insulation does require permanently cutting and opening in the rear cargo door, again on the passenger side. And after that opening is made you're going to have to put a continuous bead of automotive urethane such as what you see there on your screen. If you take a look at the urethane that I have listed there for you on the top right, that's going to be more along the lines of the amount that you're going to need for a window like this. Now that is sold separately, so you would just take that model number that you see there on your screen, pop it in the search field or our website that will take you to that urethane. And you can add that to your order, but you're just going to add a continuous bead of that urethane. It's going to be applied around the perimeter. And then the glass is going to be set directly into the urethane. It's going to both bond the window securely to the door and create that primary weather seal that's going to help prevent water from entering the door cavity. Other things you might be interested in is maybe the securing tape to hold this into place while you're installing that. So again, those items are going to be listed on this product page as a separate purchase if you need to refer back to those part numbers. But the urethane in particular is going to be an essential element to pick up if you don't already have it to make sure that this is installed correctly. This is going to be compatible with all the wheel bases of your Sprinters and it's going to work with both standard roof and high roof models. But really this is going to be a great option to consider if you want to add a permanent factory looking rear cargo door window for the passenger side, giving you more light and more visibility.
