Bought a Sportrack Horizon L on FB Marketplace. Lady only had one key. Local hardware store didn't have a compatible blank key. Saw N083 stamped on the key, did a little research and found this one with the same stamp.
Pleasantly surprised these were already cut and worked with my rack, so I didn't have to go get them cut.

The keys were perfect, I could open the top parts of the rack but it seems that the bottom parts that sit on the roof are different cause I can open the end parts on them and there is no number on them or indication to match to a key number, beside that I,m very satisfied thank you

Shipping is expensive for a key which could be sent by us post office for the price of a stamp. To send fed ex requiring signature is overkill.
I got the wrong key. It can't open my car roof rack. I bought an old used 2008 car and the old owner have might have purchased the roof rack years ago so I have no idea what to do in this situation.
Although the lock said 038 the keys I ordered do not turn the lock to unlock for removal. Extremely disappointed. I will have to break the locks and purchase replacement tumblers. $20 lost.

Thanks for sharing that, and I’m sorry you ran into that, I know that’s frustrating. Even though the lock is stamped 038, those cores can’t be removed with the matching key alone. To swap or remove them, you’ll need the universal change key, part # TH42BJ, which is designed specifically for pulling those lock cylinders out. Before going the route of breaking the locks, that change key should let you remove them cleanly and install the correct cores.

It sounds like you have an older model roof rack, which would be the reason this key would not fit, even if it is the same number on the lock core. The solution would be to get a universal change key to take out the entire lock core then get a new style replacement lock core with a pair of keys. Here are the parts that I am referring to: item # TH450200.
