Specs:
Note: Tie-down straps must be chosen according to their safe working load limit (WLL). The weight of the secured cargo must not exceed the combined WLL of the straps being used. For example, if you are using straps with a WLL of 500 lbs each to tie down a load weighing 1,000 lbs, then you need at least 2 straps to safely secure that load. It is recommended that you always use straps in pairs.

Hello neighbor, Steven here with etrailer.com. Today we're taking a look together at our SmartStraps Carbon X ratchet style tie-down straps with S-hooks. Now they measure an inch and a quarter wide by 10 feet long, and you're gonna get two of them, and they're both rated at 1,000 pounds safe working load limit. Now that being said, the maximum brake strength is 3,000 pounds, but never go over 1,000 pounds to be safe. Now these are what we consider a standard duty tie-down strap. They're gonna let you secure your cargo in the truck bed or large trailer, perfect for strapping down maybe an ATV, a mower, or something of that sort.
And I got them here just on the table the way they came out of the box. You get a nice hook and loop strap here that helps hold all the material together whenever you're not using it. When you are, you've got S-hooks here that are built in on both ends. They're heavy duty quality steel, but they've been covered with like a nylon, non-marring rubber coating that prevents scratches to your gear and to your trailer and truck bed. It is a hook and loop strap here, like I said, that holds that all up.
The webbing itself is nice and stitched many times on both ends. That ensures that it's not gonna come undone or break on you as long as you're staying within the safety ratings that they're made for. Now the ratcheting strap, or the ratcheting mechanism itself rather, has hex caps, hard plastic here to help protect that from hitting any of your gear and scratching it. You've got this nice Carbon X finish on top of them here, and as you probably already know, you simply ratchet them down (ratchet clicking) 'till you make everything tight to where it's not gonna go nowhere. And then you got a spring lever here, you can just simply release, and then you can pull that down and make it loose again as needed.
So very simple operation. The oversized handle here and everything makes it really easy to ratchet when the time comes and give you a nice hard strength on it. And as always, whenever you wanna release them and everything, I showed you you got the spring loaded levers on the back here and one down here in the front as well. So again, pretty standard operation. If you've ever used these kind of straps, you already know how they operate, how they work.
This is just a different design. The nice bright orange color I like 'cause it's gonna make it easier to see at nighttime. It also makes it more visible whenever you're going down the road. If you're like me, you're always looking in the mirrors, making sure your straps are still snug, or when you stop to get fuel or a bathroom break, you're making sure all your stuff is tightened and safe. So never just assume it's gonna stay tight. Always check your straps anytime you stop just to be sure and to be safe. Well folks, that's gonna wrap it up for our quick look today. I'm Steven, as always, stay safe while you're towing and have a great day.
So far so good !

These are great straps. I use them on each one of my trailers.
easy to use and bright colored
These will make good bike tie down straps.
I was surprised when I received the tie down straps. The velcro to secure the slack now that's a plus. And loop for the hook, that's a game changer. Carbon fiber adds a nice touch.
Good quality parts and fast delivery.
