Hi, I'm Matt with etrailer. Today, we're gonna be talking about the Thule replacement key. So let's check it out. Now, this is gonna be good for a couple different reasons. Let's say you just want a couple extra keys to have on hand just to be prepared. You want to give one to your partner or spouse so they have access to your gear tube.
That's not a bad idea. Or if you've lost your original key, this would be another good reason to do that. Now, something to keep in mind is a lot of these lock cores don't have the numbers posted on them. And really, once you get your key, you'll usually have some indicator either in your box or on the key itself that does have that original key number to it. So if you didn't write that down, it might be a little bit more difficult to get that.
So what I'd recommend doing is reaching out to a Thule dealer like us who can find the right key for you. Now, if you did write that number down, good for you. This will be much easier to replace now, and if you're curious where to find that number, it's gonna be right here underneath that handle on your key. So once you find that, you can come over to your device, your accessory, your roof rack, whatever it is, and it's gonna work just like the old one did. But that's pretty much it.
I mean, there's not too much to it. It's just gonna be a good replacement key that's gonna work just like your old one did. I ordered 201 but was given 209 and really needed this in time for a big road trip.
Keys work perfectly. These keys have a large plastic head that is easier to hold on to. The original keys that came with the bike rack, are not as easy to grip for locking/unlocking the lock. Fast shipping thru etrailer.
