Hello everybody. This is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at this Replacement Ratcheting Wheel Strap for the Thule Sidearm Roof Mounted Bike Carrier. Now this will replace one ratcheting wheel strap on the Thule Sidearm Roof Mounted Bike Carrier. Now that sidearm bike kit rack, we do sell separately on our website. It goes by part number TH594, and this ratcheting wheel strap is what'll quickly secure your rear bike wheel to the tray.

It is a ratcheting wheel strap, has a tab right down here you can see, and this tab is what'll slide directly into the built-in channel of that wheel tray for installation. And then this will go through your rear wheel. And then what you do is just insert it in there, (strap ratcheting) and you can push it, and that wheel strap, this'll control the tightening and loosening of the strap around your bike wheel. And then just that's tightening it. And then to loosen it, you just push down on that tab there, and you can release it just like that.

Very simple. Install it, just go and push it in like that. But that should do it for the review on this Replacement Ratcheting Wheel Strap for the Thule Sidearm Roof Mounted Bike Carrier.

I bought this to replace the original Thule back wheel strap that was too short. I have an earlier Thule 529XT Pro roof rack and the wheel strap was no long enough to go around my 2.4 Maxxis tires and P-XC2 rims. Though this product is designed for a different carrier and the strap has some subtle differences, it worked fine with the Thule XT tray style rack, and the strap is plenty long enough to get a good bite on the band. The only thing I had to do in order for it to work is trim a small nub at the top so it would fit the profile of my particular tray. After spending time searching REI, Rack Attack, and dozens of websites, I wasn't sure if this product would be long enough, but it was the only one that appeared to have a chance of making it around the larger mtb tires, so I ordered hoping it would, and it does the trick! See photo for approx length of the strap band compared to the factory model. Very happy with product and the whole customer experience. The ordering process was ez, shipping was only ~$4 and it arrived ahead of schedule. Highly recommend.

My sidearm Thule bike rack is older and is no longer made. I needed two new ratcheting wheel straps and could not find them until I checked with etrailer. Sure enough, they still sold them. I bought two straps and they work great.

Ordered these for my Thule Big Mouth carrier as I changed to 5cm aero rims. The original straps wouldn't accommodate the deeper rim dimensions. Product arrived on time and just as described. Easy change out from the original straps. Up and running in less than 5 min. Works perfectly and plenty of room to accommodate even deeper rims (would guess by the excess on my 5cm these would easily work for 7 and 9 cm rims). Very pleased.

I used this as an additional tire strap for the front wheel on the Thule Sidearm. Fast and affordable shipping, perfect fit and works great. The front tire strap makes a big difference at highway speed stability in comparison to just having the one on the rear.

Great replacement strap. Fits my Thule rack with "T slot" perfectly. The original Thule strap was worn out and was too short to fit the 2.35" tire on my bike. This one installed easily in less than a minute, and is plenty long enough. Feels like a good, sturdy part, at a great price.
