I had unloaded our two bikes from our Swagman Spare tire bike carrier, but was in a hurry, so forgot to secure the two top plates back on their holders, so when my wife came back from errands, she heard a sound in the back of the car....it was the one top piece left finally dismounting from the top of the tire. When I got back from my trip, she said she had "good news and bad news" what did I want to hear first...I said bad! So I called Swagman and they said I could get it online from etrailer.com...Yea! I already had an account with etrailer. So I ordered and had my product in hand within 3 days, and reasonably priced to boot. I love etrailer.com!!!

You can trust etrailer to provide you a quality product an a reasonable price in a reasonable time. I just bought the Swagman bike rack cradle-cover, Item: P161. It is THE original!!! It came in a few days as promised. BTW, I looked{a different webside} online too. Could not buy just the cover. Had to buy the whole cradle, cover and rack mount clamps. AND their price was over $70. Thank you, etrailer for your excellent products, service and timely shipping.

I've bought replacements for years here. Unfortunately I have the bad habit of taking my bike off my rack and not always putting my cover plate back on. This leads to me driving off and the plate flying off on the road somewhere. These plates work great and fit my rack perfectly. The cost is good too. I highly recommend this part if you lose or damage your original.

This review is mainly for the eTrailer service. Top notch all the way. The parts were on back order, and I was given an opportunity to cancel, but I decided I could wait. Notified of the shipment ahead of their projected date and it got here fast. Unfortunately, the replacement part was from the newer model rack and did not fit my older rack. Contacted customer service by phone and Meriah could not have been more helpful. She sent the return shipping label via email and even sent a link to the entire assembly part which I am going to need. Ordered it today. eTrailer is awesome.

Part is reasonably priced and fits my rack. Unfortunately with the design of this rack I have twice left this part just sitting on the rack and drove off. The part ended up on the ground and lost. But thanks to this site you can get a replacement with no problem:) I completely suggest it!

It is working just fine. Still holds my bikes in place and so far I have gotten a little better at remembering to secure the plates when I take the bikes off to keep from losing them. Nice to know that I can certainly get a replacement when needed though!

I bought two of these as a replacement for one, in which after years of frequent use, the vinyl under surface separated from the metal upper surface. i also bought another to replace one I lost. Prompt delivery from etailer.com. The mailing package could be sturdier since two of these in one package were slightly heavy and there are several edges. The package arrived open but the contents were intact.
These are used on a Swagman bike rack which has locks to secure the rack and a lock to secure the bikes.

With the surrise (and free) upgrade to 2 day shipping my parts arrived long before I expected and I was able to get my Swagman bike rack reconditioned and back in service and get back out on the road with my bikes. I was getting frustrated trying to find Swagman parts until I found etrailer. now they will be the first place I look for any kind of parts for any rack or trailer. Great service.

I have used various systems and racks over the last 44 years. Swagman spare tire rack is the best product of this type that I have used. My only gripe is the self imposed hardship that occurs when occasionally I leave the top plate sitting on the tire and occasionally forget it and lose it. This does not happen often but a tether would help. Consequently I ordered replacements from etrailer and received excellent service and fast delivery.

Swagman parts are indestructible. You may lose them, but you wont break them, and etrailer always has what I need.

This is a good basic product. However, I ordered this as a replacement part for my existing bike carrier and found that the gauge of metal and the silver powder coating appears to be thicker and it has been extremely difficult to attach it to the clamp. It is noticeably thicker than the old part and I have had to force it into place and it has removed some of the silver coating. Ideally, as a replacement part, it should have been consistent with the measurement of the old part.

The replacement top plate fit my 7 year old Swagman bike carrier perfectly. The only difference is the color; the original was black with red vinyl. Now I only have to remember to replace it before driving away.

Perfect replacement for the piece I drove and left behind after I forgot I set it on my spare tire. Simple fix so it doesn't happen again? Drill a small hole and attached a length of steel cable. No more lost pieces!

It sounds like you are needing a replacement cradle inserts for your Swagman XP - Folding 4 Bike Rack # S64960. For this you can use the Replacement Top and Bottom Vinyl Inserts # P160.
