Hi, there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a quick look at this Swagman Replacement Vinyl Cradle Padding. This is gonna replace one vinyl padding insert for your 1999 and newer Swagman Original Series Hitch Mounted Bike Carrier. This is going to allow you to repair the bike rack without having to buy a whole new cradle. It just will snap in place on the top or the bottom plate of your cradle.

And because this is a direct replacement from Swagman, you can trust it is gonna fit right in place of that original. And so, no worries about fit issues or compatibility problems or anything like that. So, if you are needing to replace one of those original vinyl padding inserts for your Swagman Original Series Bike Rack, this is gonna be exactly what you need. That completes our look for today. Perfect fit,this 3 bike,hitch insert carrier us many years old and the original rubber had deteriorated badly.the new ones and a little cleaning and this unit is in perfect condition again.

I was given a Swagman original 3 bike rack from a friend, but it needed keys for the lock and new cradles. Thanks to etrailer they had the cradles as the originals were in pretty rough shape. Had one small problem as the price was not right and quickly resolved after contacting etrailer. They arrived in a short time after ordering. The old cradles were easy to remove and the new ones were as easy to install. They work perfect and now I'm ready to roll.

These are a great replacement for my bike rack. I purchased the rack second hand from a resale shop. My first trip out I discovered that the rubber was deteriorating, my bike slid all over the place and left behind a smelly rubbery goo. Found these bad boys online, ordered them and after some admittedly fast shipping and about 5 minutes... once was old is now new again. Great product, was as described, easy to install. Couldn't ask for more.

Perfect fit, easy to install, and good quality. These secure and protect my bikes in transit, which is all I asked. After replacing the vinyl cradles (I like the new grey ones better than the original red), I sprayed a little flat black paint on a few spots, and my Swagman bike rack is as good as new again.

I was very excited to find that etrailer carried the vinyl cradles for my 13+ year old Swagman bike rack. I ordered several, to replace the worn out originals, on a Sunday afternoon, that night I received a personal email that they'd shipped, and by Wed., they were in my mail. I ordered the cushions thinking 6 cushions would be sent since the model bike rack I have is capable of carrying 3 bicycles. Upon receiving the package I only had 3 cushions so yesterday I ordered another package of 3 cushions so I can replace the old cushions.

My rack is as good as new now!!!! thank you Etrailer! I have a HiddenHitch(HH) branded Bike rack that looks just like the Swagman one. Either HH sold to Swagman or Swagman licensed the design to HH years ago. HH no longer had these in their parts inventory and you can't get them from HH. Either way this is indeed the proper part if you have the HH branded version of this bike rack. Also if like me you leave your rack on your vehicle you may find the threads of the thumbscrews rusting over time and becoming difficult to operate due to the rust. You can see in the pics, just add a bit of anti seize to the threads and work them back and forth to spread it. You will have rust free threads for a long time.

We had used our Swagman bike carrier for nearly 10 years, and the vinyl cradle padding had worn out. We purchased new cradle pads a year ago and I can now report that, in addition to being easy to install, they have done their job beautifully. They will last another 10 years!

Hey Diana, The closest thing we've found to fit your older Reese Outfitter Adventure rack is the Replacement Vinyl Cradle Padding for Swagman Original Series Bike Carriers # P0023. Apparently, Swagman made the cradles for Reese at the time so this should pop in place. If this doesn't look like it will work, then you'll either need to rig something up and make it work, or you'll need to replace the bike rack altogether. To replace the knobs on your older Reese Outfitter 4-bike hitch rack, you can use part # P1004 if the original knobs you're trying to replace use 3/8 in diameter by 2 in long bolts. It sounds like you have a Swagman Original bike rack. We have the replacement cradle padding # P0023 which fits 1999 models and newer. This is the only gray cradle padding available that fits bike racks like what you have described so even if it is not exactly the same you may be able to still use it by modifying it somehow so you won't have to purchase a new rack just yet!

The compatible replacement plate for your bike rack would be # P120. The plate includes 3 of the grey pads, if you needed 3 additional pads they are available as part # P0023.
