I purchased a used bike rack and would like to know if the swagman P0023 will fit my rack with a modification. can you send me some dimensions of the Replacement Vinyl Cradle Padding. thanks

There are indeed some bike rack replacement parts that might be adaptable to brands and models of racks for which they were not intended. Usually an entire cradle assembly like # 853-7887 from Thule, which slips over one of the rack arm tubes, is easiest to substitute since many of these items are intended for the same 1-inch diameter tubing.
The Replacement Vinyl Cradle Padding for Swagman Original Series Bike Carriers # P0023 is a bit more specific in fit than many parts. This part fits their Original bike rack model made in/after 1999.
I pulled a sample of this item from our warehouse so that I could measure it for you. The linked photo shows its dimensions. The padding is 4-1/2-inches long and each half of the "V" is 1-inch.
