Hello, neighbors. Welcome back. I'm Steve with etrailer.com. Today we're taking a look at this replacement gas strut for your Roadmaster Tow Defender. Now, if you're not sure what a Roadmaster Tow Defender is, this might not be the part for you. So here's a picture on the screen of what this fits.
So basically, the Tow Defender by Roadmaster is what they call a rock guard or a defender protector to protect the towed vehicle that's being pulled behind the RV or motor home. So this will replace one gas strut on that Roadmaster Tow Defender protective screen. Now, obviously, that screen is sold separately. The strut here itself is 20-1/2 inches long. Very simple design.
Both ends have your typical gas strut connection. You simply pop that over the ball socket on the side of your Tow Defender that the old one came off. There's a little metal clip on the back. You would gently pull up that clip with a screwdriver, a flathead screwdriver, to pop off your old one and then put this in its place.
