This product allows you to use your Curt A20 hitch minus the slider portion. Install is very simple, remove the 4 bolts attaching the slider and install them on the legs. Bolts and new hitch pins are provided. One downside is there are no instructions provided for washer configuration or torque spec.

I've had the Curt A20 for a few years with a slider hitch. I recently upgraded to the Gen Y fifth wheel pin box which increased my bed rail to deck clearance by 3". My slider was adjusted down as far as possible to 17" of height from the bed.

Going with the fixed position hitch gave me several more inches of adjustment, I'm currently in the middle position and just over 6" of clearance. My understanding is the Gen Y will settle a little with the 1000 mile break in period so I will keep an eye on the height and adjust if I need to.

I have a short bed truck which is why I opted for the slider some years ago. However, the Gen Y is about 3" longer than the Rotoflex pin box, this gave me more clearance between the cab of the truck and the cap. I've included pictures of the available turning angle after installation, not 90 degrees but close enough for any situation I would be in.

The overall weight of the hitch is probably 100 lbs lighter. I've rarely removed the slider because of the weight the slider portion alone is more than I can lift in and out. Removing the hitch head on the A20 is simple and with it off I can lift the rest hitch easily. I'm really looking forward to this in the future.

As an added bonus because of the increased length of the Gen Y I can now open the baggage door for my generator while hitched. Overall very pleased with this setup.

2012 Chevy 3500 SRW short bed, 2020 Montana High Country 331BH, Curt A20 fixed position and Gen Y Executive hitch.
