MB Sturgis Propane Fittings - 100575-24-MBS

  • Hoses
  • Pigtail Hoses
  • 2 Feet Long
  • 1/4 Inch - MIF
  • Type 1 - Female
  • MB Sturgis

Pigtail makes the connection from the propane tanks on your trailer to the propane regulator on your trailer. Check valve prevents hazardous backflow leakage and is suitable for dual-tank setups.

Features:

  • Propane pigtail connects your propane cylinder to a regulator
    • Used for single or dual tank setups on the front of your travel trailer
  • Female Type 1 fitting connects to the valve on your propane cylinder
  • Male Inverted flare connects to a propane regulator
  • Built-in bypass mode shuts gas off when flow reaches maximum capacity for safety
    • Thermal shut-off device turns off gas flow in extreme heat caused by open flame
    • Excess-flow safety device limits gas flow in the event of a severe leak
  • Durable thermoplastic hose and brass fittings approved for LP gas only
    • Rated for high pressure and high flow rate to handle unregulated propane
    • UL569 and ANSI Z21-81 certified
  • Made in the USA

Specs:

  • Temperature range: -40 F to 140 F
  • Hose dimensions: 24" long x 1/4" inner diameter
  • Hose fittings:
    • Type 1 tank connection
    • 1/4" Male inverted flare
  • Maximum pressure rating: 350 psi
  • Maximum flow capacity: 450,000 Btu per hour
  • 1-Year limited warranty

Bypass Mode for Safety

This Type 1 connector will go into bypass mode if the flow rate surpasses the maximum flow capacity for this connector, which is 450,000 Btu per hour. A ball inside of the fitting will push an internal spring down, pressing firmly against the bottom of the fitting to shut off the flow of gas.

When choosing a Type 1 connector, consider your overall propane demands and choose a connector with a flow rate that just exceeds it. That way, you won't trigger the bypass mode during normal use, but it will trigger in the event of a leak. If the bypass valve engages, stop using gas and start checking your connections for leaks.

  • Do You Carry the MB Sturgis Regulator with 2' Hose Connected Model Number 102M?
Hey Dean, The MB Sturgis Model 102M regulator with the built-in 2-foot hose (30?psi) isn’t available anymore as a single unit. But you can recreate it by picking up the parts separately. You’ll want to grab: - MB Sturgis Single Stage Propane Regulator # 108072 - MB Sturgis Propane Pigtail w/ Back Check - RV Type 1 x 1/4" Male NPT - 2' # 100473-24-MBS, or with back check # 100575-24-MBS. I was checking out some customer photos of this regulator installed, and noticed a few were mounted...

  • Replacement Green Type 1 Propane Fitting
It sounds like you need a type 1 fitting that connects directly to a propane tank. We don't sell just the fitting so you'll need a new pigtail, which we have plenty of. What you're going to need to do is measure the length of your pigtail and see what kind of fitting is at the other end that most likely screws into your regulator. I have linked a help article below to help you identify the fitting. If yours has a 1/4" Male NPT, you can use the MB Sturgis Propane Pigtail w/ Back Check...

  • Replacement Propane Pigtail Options for a 2019 Grand Design 5th Wheel 295RL
Hey Jeff! The pigtails that go from a propane tank to the regulator will either have the 1/4" Male NPT fitting like what we see with part # 100473-24-MBS or the 1/4" Male Inverted Flare fitting like part # 100575-24-MBS. If your regulator has the adapter fittings on it already (see attached photo) then you need the inverted flare fitting. If those adapters aren't on your regulator then you need the standard Male NPT fitting. Have you tried both options already?

  • How To Make Propane Pigtail With Type 1 Connector And 3/8" Male Inverted Flare
I may have another option for you, but unfortunately we do not offer a propane hose with a type 1 connector and a 3/8" male inverted flare. Your best bet is to use the MB Sturgis Propane Pigtail - Type 1 x 1/4" Male Inverted Flare - 2' # 100575-24-MBS and a 1/4" female inverted flare to 3/8" male inverted flare adapter. We do not offer that specific adapter so you would need source one. I included a video of the # 100575-24-MBS for you to take a look at.

  • How To Determine What Correct Propane Pigtail Is Needed
To determine which pigtail will be right for you, you will first need to know what type of regulator you have. The two most common types of regulators is a standard two stage regulator like the MB Sturgis Vertical 2-Stage Propane Regulator # 108220, and an automatic changeover two stage regulator. The standard two stage regulator will have one inlet, and requires a pigtail with an Acme and a 1/4" Male NPT like # 100473-24-MBS. An auto changeover regulator will have two inlets and require...

  • Hoses That Fit JR Products Automatic Changeover Regulator 37207-30395
You will need hoses with a 1/4" male inverted flare to connect to the JR Products Automatic Changeover RV LP Gas Regulator # 37207-30395. I was unable to find the hose size that connected to the Winntec you have, but if they don't fit, then they wouldn't be 1/4" male inverted flare, as that's the correct size for the # 37207-30395. So you will need new hoses, and can choose the length you need from the following, each of which has the correct fitting to connect to your regulator: - 1...

  • Can The Brass Fittings On The Camco Automatic Changeover 2-Stage Propane Regulator Be Removed
Hey Michael, The Camco Automatic Changeover 2-Stage Propane Regulator for Dual Propane Tanks # CAM59005 inlets are 1/4" NPT thread and the brass fittings are just an adapter to switch from NPT to 1/4" female flare since 1/4" male flare fittings are a popular connection type for pigtail hoses. You can remove the brass fittings but they are held in place with Loctite so it might be challenging to get them out. After getting them out I would use a wire brush to clean any remaining Loctite...

  • Parts Needed To Convert Single Tank Propane System w/ Marshal 230 To Dual Tank System
Yep! You can replace your Marshal 230 regulator with a auto changeover regulator # 37207-31525, and install it with a bracket # 37207-30405. You'll be able to reuse the existing pigtail going from your single tank to your current regulator, and the supply hose going from the regulator to your propane manifold, but you'll need one more pigtail # 100575-24-MBS to connect the additional tank to the regulator.

  • Recommended Regulator For A Superior Unvented Log Fireplace
I recommend using the MB Sturgis High Capacity Two-Stage Auto Changeover Regulator # 888001-MBS between your two 30lb propane tanks to fuel your Superior Unvented Log Fireplace. This regulator has an operational temperature range of -20F to 120F (-40C to 55C). It has a top view indicator to check your propane level. It has a 3/8" female NPT outlet and two 1/4" female inverted flare inlets which will require you to use two pigtails like the MB Sturgis Propane Pigtail - Type 1 x 1/4" Male...

  • How to Measure for Correct Length Replacement Propane Pigtail Hoses
Hey Ralph! The standard pigtail is 12" - 18" long. You really just need to measure between the 2 points and then add a few inches to account for any bends in the hose to make sure the hose doesn't have to bend too much and kink anywhere. There's also no harm in going with a pigtail that's a little longer than what you need. So something like a 2' pigtail should work just fine, but you're more than welcome to measure what you need and get back with me about it! For a 2' pigtail you'll...
