Today we'll be reviewing part number 63059. This is the Pintle Hook Mount from Tow-Ready. The Pintle Hook Mount slides into a 2-inch by 2-inch trailer hitch receiver to provide a good mounting location for a Pintle hook. It's going to feature a nice solid shank for added strength. This is made from a steel construction with a powder-coat finish, so it is going to stand up really well against rust and corrosion. This portion here is going to be the portion that slides into your 2-inch by 2-inch hitch. You're going to slide it in until your pin holes align up with one another and then you'll need to install the hitch pin and clip or a hitch pin and lock, and those items are going to be sold separately.
This is going to offer a capacity of 12,000 pounds with a maximum tounge weight of 1,200 pounds. It is designed to fit a 2-inch by 2-inch trailer hitch receiver. If we take a measurement of the shank length, measuring from the center of the hitch pin hole to the front of the mounting plate, that's going to give us a measurement of 11 and 3/8 of an inch. If we measure from the center of the hitch pin hole to the end of our shank, that's going to give us a measurement of 3 and 1/4 of an inch. Here at the front, our plate is going to measure 7 1/2 inches tall by 5 inches wide. If we measure the whole spacing horizontally from center on center, it's going to give us a measurement of 3 and 3/8 of an inch and then vertically, center on center, it's going to measure an inch and 3/4. You're going to have four sets of holes.
The hole diameters are going to measure 17/32 of an inch. Another measurement, real quick, is from the center of the hitch pin hole to the back of the brace, and I'm going to measure to the bottom of the weld, and that measurement's going to give us about 7 inches to this point here. You can use this in either position, whether it's with the brace on top or if you need to install it in this position, either one would be fine. It's really simple to attach a Pintle hook to. All you have to do is take your Pintle hook, and these are going to be sold separately, and then you just have to line it up with the set of holes that you want to use, place all your hardware through and then secure it with the lock washer and the nut on the back of the bolt. It's also a really simple installation into the hitch. The shank is going to slide in and then you've just got to line up your pin holes.
Then you'll need to secure it using the hitch pin and clip or a hitch pin and lock. For our demonstration today I'm using the standard 5/8-inch pin and clip. It's going to found on our website using part number PC3. Once you have it secured inside your hitch, all you need to do is make your connection and you'll be set to go. That's going to do it for our review of part number 63059. This is the Pintle Hook Mount from Tow-Ready.
