Jeff: Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today, we're going to take a look at this Curt trailer hitch receiver mounted tow hook. Now this part is designed to fit trailer hitches that have a two inch by two inch receiver tube opening. These are perfect for vehicle recovery towing applications. They're designed to be used with recovery straps and chains. You can see it's a hollow shank, which will weigh less, and it can be used with an anti-rattle kit.

The shank is protected by a durable powder coat finish. The tow hook you can see, is a nice Chrome plated finish.Now this does have a 10,000 pound straight-line pole, but the gross towing weight capacity and tongue weight capacity will be limited to your trailer hitch capacity. And this is not intended for towing use. I do want to give you a measurement and then we're going to show you how this installs in your trailer hitch. Measurement we're going to give you is from the center of the hitch pin hole to the end of the hook right here.

So if we take our ruler or tape measure, it's going to be right at eight and a half inches.Now what we're going to do is I have an example of a two inch by two inch hitch receiver opening right here. So if we take our clip and pin out, you can see that you'll just slide this into your opening. Once you get the hole lined up, go ahead and put your pin through there. Go ahead and put your clip in there. And then you're all hooked up ready for recovery applications.

And as they mentioned, since it's a hollow shank, you could put an anti-rattle kit in here, which will even lock it into place, you won't get any noise.But that should do it for the review on this Curt trailer hitch receiver mounted tow hook.
