Video Transcript for Performance Tool 6 Gauge Jumper Cables Review

Hi everyone, it's Evangeline. And today we're taking a look at some Performance Tool jumper cables. These are six gauge and 16 feet long, and we'll take a look at them right here at etrailer.com. These are affordable compact two jumper cables. Great for your midsize SUVs, your small trucks, or your larger passenger cars. I recommend these when you're not planning on needing your battery jumped, but you need them there in case of emergency or if someone else needs them, and you're ready to jump their car.

So take a look at how to do that. So this is how small and compact it is gonna be. So you're gonna have this box included with your cord and there's a strap or handle on top. So that way you can store this inside your car, in your trunk, underneath your seat, and it's ready to go when you need it. Now taking it out of the box, you can see that it's still lightweight and compact.

It is just a six gauge cord that's 16 feet long. So what that means is, for gauge numbers, the smaller the number, the bigger the diameter or the bigger the width of the cord. And this is gonna work for your larger or your midsize SUVs and your midsize trucks. Now the length of the cord matters when you need to get jumped, because you can't move your car around obviously because you have a dead battery. So it matters where the person that's gonna be jumping you has their car parked.

So with this being 16 feet, let's see how far we can reach, and where your jumper can park. So let's connect the battery that needs to be jumped and this is a good time to talk about our clamps. So these are just straight across clamps. Sometimes clamps can have a 90 degree angle to make it easier to access. This one you just need to go straight up into the post.

And if you know how to jump a car, you'll remember that the red or the positive one goes first. Get access to that post and just connect it. You can see here that there's a little bit of a pincher there as well as the grips, just to help you get the best fit around that post. So if you have smaller posts, you can go ahead and use that top part. And if you have your larger, wider posts, you can use it where you have those teeth. The tension is at a good balance too. There is enough tension where the clamp stays on that post, but not too much tension where it was extra difficult for me to open up the clamp. And that's very important. If I can use these clamps, pretty much anyone else can too. So how far is 16 feet when it comes to your jumper cords or jumper cables Well, with that attached to our driver's side and then with my car parked beside it, I could attach it to the passenger side battery. And that's good if you're parked right beside it that's really just one parking spot over. So whether you're over here or you need to go all the way over here, you have the space for that. If you're parked two spaces over, not gonna make it. Now, for your other vehicle, make sure you do the exact same thing. We you connect your positive first and then your negative, or in our case here, we're just gonna use a ground. Now obviously, I have a Prius, so my setup is a little bit different. My actual battery's in the back, but I have some connection points up front. But once you have connected your vehicles, if you're starting your Prius, then make sure that you leave it for a couple minutes so that it gets some chance to charge and then turn on your vehicle. If it doesn't turn on just yet, go ahead try to give it a little bit of gas and try again. So all in all, these are a solid choice for keeping inside of your vehicle. Hopefully, you don't need to use jumper cables a lot. But if you do, it's nice to have them when you need them. Now with this having a good balance and tension in the clamps, you have your copper teeth plus the 16 feet of six gauge wire. This is gonna be great for your light trucks or your larger cars and midsize SUVs. Also, no matter what the temperature is, whether it's super cold, negative 13 degrees Fahrenheit, all the way to super hot at 158 degrees Fahrenheit, these are ready to go. And we have other options here at etrailer. If you have larger trucks or larger SUVs, like our Tahoe here, I would not recommend the six gauge cable for extended use. I recommend going down. We even have a two gauge cable, which might be overpowered, but we'll give you that energy. So definitely check out our product pages, that way you can get the right fit for you. And this right here was a look at our Performance Tool jumper cables that are six gauge and 16 feet long here at etrailer.com. My name is Evangeline and I hope you enjoyed the journey..
