Jake: Hey guys, it's Jake here with etrailer. Today we're going to be taking a look at the Brophy Clevis Pin. This is going to be either a replacement pin or a new pin for a trailer you might've misplaced your clevis pin for. It's going to work with many different clevis tongues and your clevis adapters for whatever vehicle or tractor that you're pulling your clevis tongue with. It's going to fit into one inch or larger clevis pin holes and it's going to come with a clip to secure it on the other side.Now, what I like about this pin is that they went the extra mile and put a stop plate on the top so that when you place it in, it's going to stop it from flowing in any further. It's also going to have this nice ring on the top.
So if your trailer's ever in a bind, which often happens with the style trailers, you're going to be able to pull out on this ring with a greater force than what you would if you just had a flat plate.The length of the pin is going to be four and an eighth inches. And the total length of the pin with the ring on the top is going to be six and an eighth inches long. The pin is going to have a nice thick steel construction to it and a zinc plated finish to help resist against rust and corrosion when it's outside with frequent use. Lot heavier duty clevis hitch than expected. Purchased for use on golf cart. I expect this will out live us both.
I've been using this for about a year to lock the rotation of the scraper blade that I use on my tractor's 3 point hitch. It is doing the job nicely and has stood up to many beatings.
